www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Have you participated in Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum or Doc Launch and the project hasn't been completed yet? We would like to support your project until it is fully completed. Sheffield Doc/Fest in cooperation with IDF offers discounted delegate pass that will give you a chance to meet key international broadcasters, distributors and sales agents and other industry guests in June in Sheffield.

Sheffield Doc/Fest is an international event attended by key international broadcasters, distributors and sales agents and offers a unique opportunity to meet the guests who could support your project.  

IDF has a special offer for former participants and for projects we have helped to develop within our programmes, such as Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum and Doc Launch. Of course, you are welcome to bring your new ideas and projects. You can get similar networking support under our other activities during IDFA Amsterdam and the East Doc Platform in Prague.

IDF representatives will help you personally with networking and matchmaking with decision makers right on the spot.


Delegate pass: £185 plus VAT; concession pass: £100 + VAT applies to full-time students, senior citizens, claimants (your proof of concession status must be valid until June 18, 2012).

What does it include?
- Possibility to take part in the Round Table Sessions – a chance to talk informally to some of the key buyers, experts and decision-makers. Attendance is first-come first-served and limited in number due to the need for intimacy in this special format.

Once we confirm your participation, we will ask you to update information on your projects and you will be asked to register on Sheffield Doc/Fest’s website.
