Marek Maďarič, Minister of Culture of the Slovak Republic, has appointed board members of the newly-established Audiovisual Fund that aims to promote support and development of Slovakia's audiovisual culture and industry.
The new members of the Audiovisual Fund with a six-year tenure are: Jelena Paštéková and Miloslav Luther who represent Slovak audiovisual professionals; Petronela Kolevská-Vančíková and Patrik Pašš for independent audiovisual producers; Michal Drobný for audiovisual distrubution and management of audiovisual equipment; Marta Gajdošíková for public-service television broadcast; Tomáš Kamenec for licenced television broadcast; Robert Ťavoda for retransmission approval, and Nataša Slavíková as a board member appointed by the Minister without proposal.
Patrik Pašš was elected Chairman of the Board, Petronela Kolevská-Vančíková will fill the post of Vice-Chairwoman. The Minister also approved a call for candidates to apply for the post of the Fund Director that will be posted on the Ministry of Culture's website on April 2, 2009.
Among the first major tasks, the board members need to pass the fund statute and other internal regulations governing the fund operations; it is equally vital to prepare a new draft for state funding in the audiovisual industry and the first call for support applications that will be published in autumn this year.
