Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Documentary in Europe: Call for September Session

The call for proposals for the coming Documentary in Europe Matchmaking Session is online, accepting project submissions until July 20. 10 filmmakers from all around the world have the chance to attend a 4-day workshop, dedicated to networking, pitching, special sessions and masterclasses. This year's event takes place September 10 to 13, Bardonecchia, Italy.

This year Documentary in Europe is moving its dates to September, hosting ESoDoc's final session and giving documentary filmmakers and emerging producers unique opportunity to look for a producer/funder for your project. The dates of the Matchmaking Session which includes seminars, screenings and a public pitch of 'documentaries that can make a change' are set from September 10 to 13.

For the first time, Documentary in Europe joins forces with ESoDoc, the European training for social documentaries, that will organize special sessions and masterclasses for the participants.

10 filmmakers from all over the world will have the chance to present their project to an audience including commissioning editors, producers, funders, and non-profit organizations.

Deadline to submit projects is July 20, 2012. Selection results will be announced on July 30.
