Dragan Wende – West Berlin , Germany, Creative, Entertainment, Portrait, Society
Once he was King, now he is invisible. In this Balkan tragi-comical documentary set in West-Berlin, the young cameraman Vuk from Belgrade embarks on the trail of his eccentric uncle Dragan Wende who used to be the “working-class” king of West-Berlin’s 1970s hedonistic disco scene. Being Yugoslav, he also profited from the Berlin Wall because he could easily go to East Berlin and was highly popular with 'the Ladies'. Today, Vuk’s uncle is an aged alcoholic and eccentric pimp who lives off social welfare and wants the Wall back. A microcosm of underdogs, veteran Yugo-immigrants and fallen millionaires and their survival strategies unfolds in this family tale about the Losers of Change in a still-divided city.
