About Visions Sud Est Fund:

In order to place emphasis on aiding the fragile structures of film production in countries of the three continents in the South and East, Visions Sud Est was founded in 2005 on the initiative of Walter Ruggle, Director of the Trigon-film Foundation, Jean Perret, the Festival Director of Visions du Réel, and Martial Knaebel, for many years the head of the Film Festival of Fribourg. This initiative was supported by the Swiss Federal Directorate for Development and Cooperation. 1037 projects have since been evaluated, and 57 film productions have received support. For Walter Ruggle, who also heads the Fund, it is important that "the film industry not be limited to the North and West and that there be a balance to the immense amount promoting European productions.”
