www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Meeting at the Border: Deadline March 30

Documentary filmmakers and producers from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary seeking co-production partners from the V4 region can submit their projects to the 4th Meeting at the Border that takes place April 30 - May 2 in Tesin and Czech Tesin. The event includes a consulting session on pitching.

Producers and distributors from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary are invited to participate in the 4th co-production event Meeting at the Border. During the previous editions of the Meeting producers, distributors and film festival programmers from Czech, Slovakia and Poland could see the latest productions from those three countries as well as films that were in production stage at that time and seeking for co-producers from Czech, Slovakia and Poland. In 2011 producers from Hungary agreed to take part in the Meeting. Every year about 50 guests from Poland and other countries attend the event.

This year the participants who will attend the Meeting with projects can consult their presentations with experienced producers and sales agents. 'The First Pitching' consulting session will be held on 2nd May and it is open especially to projects that are presented for the first time or to directors and producers that present their first or second project. Representatives of other projects can also participate in the session, depending on the number of free seats.

The 4th Meeting at the Border will take place in Tesin and Czech Tesin April 30 - May 2, 2012, during the 14th Cinema at the Border Film Festival (April 28 - May 3). The event is co-organized by MEDIA Desk Poland and the Polish Film Institute (PISF).
