Doc/Fest is the UK's biggest documentary film event that hosts over 2200 UK and international delegates as well as thousands of general public and press. This combination means Doc/Fest has become renown as one of world's best launch pads for new documentary works. In 2011 Doc/Fest moves to June with a new summer slot that means even more exposure for films. The film programme will screen 79 feature films, 28 short films, 8 cross-platform films, two surprise films and one killer installation as part of the official programme. To celebrate the summer the programme will host a day of documentaries outdoors in the hub of Sheffield, Devonshire Green.

He now lives in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, with his Khmer girlfriend Saran and daughters Marie, 2 years old, and Jasmine, 6 months, trying to make ends meet as a street fortune-teller.

Over the hills and far away, in the middle of the Russian steppe, you will find Chess City. It was built by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the first and only President of the Republic of Kalmykia, one of the smallest and poorest republics in the Russian Federation.In Kalmykia, there also lives a boy called Alekhan, who dreams of becoming the World Chess Champion. And his younger brother Amir, who shares the same dream. The road to make their dreams come true passes through the Chess Competition in Chess City.

Made as part of the Cinetrain project this short experimental documentary was shot and edited over a 5week period in Autumn 2009 traveling by train between Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan and Moscow. Throughout this journey people from different ethnic, economic and religious backgrounds speak of their struggles, immigration, racism, the ‘old days’ in the USSR and their dreams for the future.

Nine musicians: Six Gypsies, two Slovaks, one African man. The film is a record of meeting of these people in evangelical church in Velky Slavkov in Eastern Slovakia, where they are preparing music for new CD. It is film about joy, love, multicultural influence and about transformation of ancient Roma songs into new compositions.
