Since 1994, the Maskep (Otherwise) Foundation has been operating a movie theatre in Budapest called Cirko-Gejzir, which had a small screening room. Five years ago they re-opened – in a new location – a better equipped Cirko –Gejzir with two screening rooms. Their movie theatre – besides serving as a venue for several minority project – aims to introduce outstanding pieces of international cinema not yet shown in Hungary.

Masterclass Non-Fiction: Extra-occupational further education program consisting of 11 weekend modules of a total of 32 days as well as a four-day congress module. The program is held in German language! Target Group: The program is aimed at participants with professional experience such as writer-directors, producers or journalists. University graduates may also submit their film ideas. The program accepts concepts for 45-60-90-minute films, series or programs on subjects from the areas of culture and society, history, nature and ecology, science and factual entertainment. Participation Requirements: Prospective participants may each submit up to two film ideas. Every film idea should be presented in the form of a 3-sentence pitch and described in a maximum of two A4 pages already containing a storytelling approach and the identification of (potential) protagonists. It should also include reasons for making the film, as well as a description of its USPs (unique selling points) and target viewers. Duration of the Masterclass: February 2013 – January 2014

Masterschool Dokumentarfilm consists of three 7-days long workshops about directing and production of demanding and artistic documentaries for cinemas and television.
