The Netherlands Media Art Institute, Montevideo/Time Based Arts has set the goal for itself of promoting the wide development, application and distribution of, and reflection on new technologies in the visual arts. The Netherlands Media Art Institute supports media art in three core areas: presentation, research and conservation, and through its facilities provides extensive services for artists and art institutions. Associated with this are educational programmes, which are developed for all activities and which are designed for various target audiences, including the general public, secondary schools, professional art training and specialists such as artists, art historians and curators. The programme comprises among others workshops, expert meetings, awards, lectures, symposia, etc.

Firmly established yet never less revolutionary, the Festival du nouveau cinéma continues the quality work it has pioneered since 1971. The Festival du nouveau cinéma is dedicated to the dissemination and development of new trends in the field of cinema and new media. It offers a springboard for original and largely unseen works, placing emphasis on promoting cinema d’auteur and digital production. For over 38 years, the Festival has annually welcomed Quebec, Canadian and international artists in a convivial atmosphere that prizes public and professional exchange.

The goal of the Montreal World Film Festival (Montreal International Film Festival) is to encourage cultural diversity and understanding between nations, to foster the cinema of all continents by stimulating the development of quality cinema, to promote filmmakers and innovative works, to discover and encourage new talents, and to promote meetings between cinema professionals from around the world. MORAG LOVES COMPANY founded by director/producer, Barbara Doran is based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and has been producing film and television for the past twenty five years. The Company is an internationally experienced production house specializing in documentary and drama productions, including the Gemini winning mini-series "Random Passage". Some of the Company’s most recent productions include “Love & Savagery”, directed by John N. Smith, a co-production with Kevin Tierney of Parkex Pictures (Good Cop, Bad Cop); Mary Walsh's "Young Triffie" a co-production with Cinemaginaire (The Barbarian Invasions). The company is currently producing the comedy feature "Surfing in Newfoundland" directed by Eric Tessier and co-produced by Cirrus Communications (C.R.A.Z.Y.) And Morag is teaming up once again with Denise Robert’s Cinemaginaire to produce Mary Walsh’s road warrior comedy, “Marg, the Movie”. On the documentary front Barbara is in post production on “Playing the Machines” (CBC) and Rob Blackie as producer and the Company is in co-production with Josh Freed on another documentary “Forget It!” also for CBC filming to begin February 2009.

A collaborative team of journalists, media specialists and filmmakers, Mortal Coil Media is a production company with a focus on factual documentaries and photojournalism specializing in telling stories from the margins. Roma Press Agency is a team of Roma journalists who present information about real problems, not the sensationalized ones of the Roma community, and who would gradually contribute towards the improvement of information and at the same time towards the creation of a multi-ethnic society in Slovakia. The Roma Press Agency in Slovakia is the third centre in the countries of the former Eastern Bloc which concentrates on the education of Roma journalists and their gradual placement in the non-Roma media.

The festival strives to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding among nations and to develop further cooperation among filmmakers of the world.
