The festival was founded in 1999 and at six different venues screens a dozen documentary films related to various aspects of work, employment, jobs, etc. The programme also includes debates, readings and special screenings focusing on famous filmmakers of the past.

The Regensburg Short Film Week is an annual non-profit film festival visited by 7 000 guests every year. The festival screens only short films. It is one of the most important short film festivals in Germany and it is well-known and popular far abroad. Films from all over the world are shown in the International Competition. Latest productions from Germany build the German Competition. Films by local filmmakers are shown in the competitions Window to Bavaria and Window to the Region. All the films in the competitions are not older than two years.

The organization wants to increase the number of films produced in the region, and it administers financial aid for the production of animated, feature, documentary and TV films.

The Rencontres Henri Langlois - international film schools festival - uncovers the best films by young filmmakers from around the world. The film lesson on directing actors, special screenings of short films and the Asia-focus programme will run in parallel to the International Competition in a celebration of youth film!

The MEDIA Programme is organising a meeting of national, regional and international film funds in the context of Rendez-Vous Européen on May 17th 2010. The objective of this meeting is to provide a forum for representatives of film funds from all over the world to share experiences and best practices and hold discussions with professionals and policymakers. The agenda will consist of two half day programmes; the morning session will focus entirely on film funds in the form of two separate panel discussions. Panellists will share their experiences before opening up the debate and Q&A. This morning session is opened to film funds only. In the afternoon, a conference "Shaping the Future of Cinema", will consist of a meeting between professionals of the audiovisual inudstry and film funds.

Rendezvous with Madness (RWM) is the world’s first and longest running film festival showcasing films that address issues of mental health and/or addiction. The festival provides a distinct venue for filmmakers to screen their work and has grown into a filmmaker favourite over the past eighteen years. The objectives of the Rendezvous with Madness Film Festival are · To explore the facts and mythologies of mental illness and/or addiction, as presented by Canadian and international filmmakers. · To facilitate discussions amongst filmmakers and audiences with respect to these cinematic representations. · To provide filmmakers an opportunity to screen their films that may otherwise not be seen. · To increase awareness, and advocacy for mental health and addiction issues and concerns. RWM brings independent Canadian and International film and video to the public. RWM features strong programmes that address the facts and mythologies of mental illness and addiction.
