Established in 1995, the Gestrike Film Festival is organized by Film/TV-grenen and Film Gävleborg. The festival accepts student films in the following categories: short fiction (max. 20 minutes), documentary films (max. 20 minutes), one-minute films, poetic short fiction and music videos (max. 5 minutes).

Facets Multi-Media's mission is to preserve, to present and to distribute independent, world and classic film, and to educate adults and children in the art and legacy of film. Facets Multi-Media, founded in 1975, is a non-profit, 501(C)3 organization, and a leading national media arts organization.

FAMA boasts a 40-year history and is one of the most distinguished cultural events in Poland. We promote young artists representing all artistic fields, we nurture talents and aim at creating an extraordinary artistic event each year. FAMA is an interdisciplinary event - we combine music, film, theater and fine arts and we also combine the practice of artistic workshops (in order to give young artists a chance to learn something and perfect their professional skills) with the practice of artistic festival (in order to present a wide range of interesting artistic performances, projects and events).

Festival FAMUFEST is a show of films created by students of Film and TV Faculty of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague which is organized by students of the faculty.

The basic idea behind the Oporto Film Festival is to promote films that seek new forms and methods of filmmaking. The purpose of the festival is to screen films of quality, both aesthetic and thematic, and also to promote the city of Porto and the production of Portuguese films. The festival has several competitve and non-competitive sections: 1 Official Section - feature and short (max. 15 minutes) fantasy films and European Fantasy Film Méliès dArgent Award; 2 Directors Week - feature films; 3 Orient Express Official Section - Asian feature films; 4 Panorama & Première/Films of the World; 5 Love Connection; 6 Anima-te - animated features; 7 Porto in Shorts; 8 Retrospectives.

Established in 1987, Fantasy Filmfest is today among the biggest genre events worldwide. This non-competitive festival begins in Berlin and tours six other German cities, namely Stuttgart, Nuremberg, Frankfurt, Cologne, Hamburg and Munich. Mainstream studio premieres in the genres of thriller, horror and sci-fi are the major draw of the event but the programme also includes international independent films, short films and a special focus.

In 1995, the organisation team of Fantoche started out with the vision to enrich the Swiss culture with a biennial event for animation of international reputation. Each year, the festival screens more than 500 films and hosts thousands of festival visitors. Fantoche especially cares for the many artistic forms of expression that animation can create. The “International Competition” focuses on films that explore and demonstrate the aesthetic possibilities of the medium and which have an innovative approach to it. A variety of relevant works from the current season (“World Wide Hits” and “Focus Switzerland”) as well as a series of selected feature films, school presentations, exhibitions, lectures, discussions and the children‘s cinemaform the core of the festival. With its thematic and historical sections, Fantoche illustrates the depiction of cultural identities and shows how animation helps to create a global visual language.

What was originally a small event held in two Prague cinemas has grown rapidly in recent years: Febiofest is now the largest non-competing audiovisual festival in Central Europe. The main part of the festival takes place in the centre of Prague where approx. 300 feature-length, short, documentary, experimental and animated films are screened regularly over a period of nine days. The attendance rate in Prague has established around the 80,000 mark. After the close of the Prague screenings, part of the Febiofest programme then continues in reduced form to another 3 – 5 of the largest towns and cities in the Czech Republic. Febiofest then moves on to Slovakia where the public attends film screenings based on an independent programme.

FEC Cambrils-Reus - European Short Film Festival is a national competition of short films of max. length of 30 minutes. All fiction genres are accepted. The best short film will receive Euro 4,500.

International film festival Femina Film focuses on women’s perspectives in films.

The festival is a national competition of the current TV production in Germany. Feature made-for-TV films compete for the TV Film Award. The programme also includes a number of panel discussions, workshops and open forums.

The International Film Festival aims to further develop cinema in the region and to showcase and promote new local and international film talents. FEST admits movies made by young people under 30 years of age, regardless of their nationality, on both video and film format. The following categories can be submitted: fiction, documentary, experimental and animated films, music videos and academic projects.

Fest Anča is an international competition for short animated films with a running time of max. 30 minutes. The Anča Awards include three prizes in the value of 777 euro, 555 euro and 333 euro.

The festival offers an overview of the latest developments in German cinema - approx. 12 feature and short films and a number of retrospective screenings that are all related to a specific theme.

Festival de Cine de l'Alfas del Pi takes place every year in the Valencian town of L'Alfas del Pi.

The festival presents films that focus on birds, the protection of birds, bird watching and nature, wildlife. The main award is given to a documentary film that best reflects the main focus of the festival, birds in their habitat. The competition of films and photographs is accompanied by numerous exhibitions, debates, bird watching trips, and a conference.

The Festival offers competitive and information sections with documentary films produced for cinema and television on sociological, political, anthropological, economic, folklore and ethnographical issues.

Festival del Mar, the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival first took place in 2004, on two of the Balearic Islands - Ibiza and Majorca. The festival presents approx. 30 short and feature films on the subject of GLBT culture.

Festival dell'Immaginario is dedicated to international independent cinema and since its first edition the festival has hosted directors and films from over 70 different countries. The festival explores cinema with the intent to try to draw a fluid, visionary atlas of independent, engaged cinema. It is not a traditional festival - it does not have juries or prizes. It wants to be a free zone, an experimental ground mixing international independent cinema with the most innovative movements and authors of the digital revolution.

The Festival of Nations is the most important film festival in Austria with more than 700 entries from 55 countries every year.

The festival accepts films and videos that deal with freedom and human rights issues. Every year the festival selects approx. 20 films that match the criteria of the festival, in the following categories: full-length narrative films and documentary films (min. 26 minutes in length). An independent jury awards a cash prize of 5000 euros to the best film in competition.

The festival presents fiction, documentary, short and animated films made by filmmakers from one of the following countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands and Belgium.

The objective of the festival is to enhance, promote and develop the production of Alpine films and the protection of environment in the mountains. Furthermore, it is the festival's mission to not only present Swiss productions, but also open its selection to those from abroad. The festival accepts films that portray the environment, life or culture of the mountains, or films that are set in the mountains, or fiction films that recall events, dramas and feats that took place in the mountains: 1/ extreme sports, 2/ documentary mountain, 3/ documentary environment, 4/ documentary feats and adventures, 5/ fiction or documentary films.

Festival du Film Italien de Villerupt is entirely dedicated to Italian cinema. The extensive programme, divided into multiple sections, comprises 8 titles competing for the main prize (Prix du Jury), a retrospective called “Gli Italiani raccontano”, focused on Italian cinema’s connection with literature, the “Panorama” section with over 15 titles, and three other sections in competion, the Critic’s Prize, Young Jury Prize and Audience Award.
