Storydoc is a training programme with the focus on the development of documentary projects. The Projects wanted should have a strong Mediterranean connection. The call is open to filmmakers from the Region, other filmmakers with a project that deals with the area as well as to Palestinian and other filmmakers from the region. 20 projects will be selected, plus 5 from Greece and STORYDOC will offer 5 scholarships to the selected projects. The selected creative documentary projects will be developed through two sessions tutored by experienced documentary directors, commissioning editors, producers, editors and generalists. At the second session pitching will be organized to extra 10-15 commissioning editors and distributors.

The festival promotes an interdisciplinary approach to film, visual arts and new media. It is a combination of multimedia installations, video art, screenings of feature, documentary and short films. In the section called Microcinema, the focus is on small-scale and mobile cinema, i.e., all types of films that were created using portable recording devices.

Tabor Film Festival - International Short Film Festival takes place onthe historical location of the castle of Veliki Tabor, Desinic, Croatia. Apart from competitions, the festival also includes retrospective short film programmes, film workshops, music programmes, various exhibitions, film market. The Tabor Film Festival supports digital production and distribution of film and video works. Our goal is to provide festival screenings in digital media.

Founded in 1998 by the Council for Cultural Affairs of the Executive Yuan, Taiwan International Documentary Festival (TIDF) celebrates its fourth showing and invites independent filmmakers from Taiwan and around the globe to the competition. Held biennially, TIDF quickly establishes itself as an important arena for documentary professionals and presents a wide spectrum of this genre. As the organizer of TIDF this year, the Chinese Taipei Film Archive entertains independent curators to design programs of different themes and features new works chosen by the Selection Committee. The Chinese Taipei Film Archive also sets up an advisory committee to supervise the proceeding.

Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival is an unique event combining a feature film festival with the sub-festivals of animated films, student films and children/youth films. The festival aims to present Estonian audiences a comprehensive selection of world cinema in all its diversity with the emphasis on European films, providing a friendly atmosphere for interaction between the audience, Estonian filmmakers and their colleagues from abroad. The Tampere Film Festival is an independent short film festival with an international and national competition. It is also the oldest and the largest short film festival in Northern Europe. Entered films must not be longer than 30 minutes. Besides the festival screenings the audience has an opportunity to visit different kinds of related happenings, such as seminars, panels, concerts and clubs. The Tampere International Short Film Market is open to industry professionals during the festival.

The programme of the Taormina Film Festival includes feature films (European and Italian premieres), documentary films (Italian documentaries), international and regional short films, master classes, retrospectives and focus screenings.

Taos Mountain Film Festival features films of adventure, culture and wildlife of the world's remote regions. Mountain Film also examines threats to the environment and human rights. The Festival presents mountaineering films and personalities, as well as symposia, photography exhibits, and readings from mountaineering literature.

The Tarazona Comedy Film Festival is a national competition of short comedy films that wants to promote young directors. More than 50 Spanish shorts compete in the main section. The programme also includes the section Comedy Panorama with new Spanish comedy features, and tribute screenings dedicated to important comedy filmmakers and comedians from Spain.

The aim of the film festival is to promote new films and to inform both the general public and the professional public in Georgia about the situation of the world cinema. The festival also supports the development of Georgian film industry by organizing workshops, master classes, panel discussions and pitching sessions.

The aim of the TECHFILM festival is to collect, present, award and make accessible the latest programmes from the fields of science, technology and arts as well as multimedia and e-learning products contributing to a better education. The main event of the Festival is the International Film Competition, the Panorama Section and E-learning Competition. The Festival programme comprises also on request screenings, seminars for experts, special cinema performances and other accompanying events. After the Festival the award-winning programmes will be presented in schools and at other non-commercial festivals throughout the Czech Republic within the framework of post-festival distribution. A selection of awarded programmes will be presented in Czech TV as a part of the Festival promotion. In the University Library of UHK and in Support Education Centre of CTU the interested public will have access to all awarded programmes.

The TECHNÉ OSTRAVA Festival was established in 2002 owing to the need to promote the issues and necessity of protection of technical and industrial monuments as an integral part of our, as well as, European cultural heritage. TECHNÉ OSTRAVA is organized in a city with a rich industrial tradition where, spread over a small area, numerous monuments of industrial architecture and technical sights are concentrated, documenting the industrial revolution affecting the face of the city, in particular during the 19th and 20th centuries. In addition to the significantly technical element, the festival entails a strong cultural charge. TECHNÉ OSTRAVA 2009 is going to focus, both with regards to the scientific colloquium and the structure of the films and TV documentaries shown, on the Protection of Technical and Industrial Heritage and the Possibilities of its New Use.

The Tempo Documentary Festival is the largest documentary film event in Sweden. Every year the festival presents about 100 national and international documentary films. Tempo is the only forum in the world which presents a genre-crossing selection of documentary works – film, radio and photography. The festival also organizes seminars and offers all participants the opportunity to make new professional contacts.

The Teplice n. Metují International Mountaineering Film Festival is a competitive festival, open to all filmmakers, both professionals and amateurs, TV and cinema producers. The entries selected to take part in the competition are divided into three sections: Mountaineering – e.g., alpinism, rock and ice climbing, Outdoor Sports – e.g., mountain biking, paragliding, canoeing, rafting, extreme skiing, Man and Mountains.

MULTIMEDIA FESTIVAL THE ART OF DOCUMENTARY is a annual showcase of documentary films connected with panels and conferences dedicated each year to a different subject matter. By its unique structure focusing on intellectual exchange and cultural discussion, the festival enhances public understanding of pressing social issues and highlights the best of international documentary films, both premiering and established taking on these issues. For 3 years now, The Art of Document takes place in the old center of Warsaw contributing to revitalisation of the historical site. Various meetings and sessions promote innovative means of expression which are highlighted each year with the Future of The Media Award, honour only second to Festival’s Grand Prix. The Festival each year is accompanied by: educational programme for schools, photographic exhibition in urban spaces, scientific conference, workshops on new cinematic forms and directors’ Q&A sessions.

Each year the Co-operative Film Festival screens approx. 100 short films made by filmmakers under 21. Entries must be under 6 minutes long. Films under 3 minutes are particularly encouraged.

The Galway Film Fleadh – Ireland’s leading film festival, is a six day international film event held every July and welcomes a mad diversity of filmmaking from around the world. The Fleadh is very much a film lovers’ festival, and attracts directors, actors, cinematographers and artists of all generations and cultural backgrounds, who present their work before their peers.

The Guelph Festival of Moving Media (GFOMM), running annually on the first weekend of November, features films and videos that offer a global perspective and provide a broader viewpoint of day-to-day events. Mandated to present a major, annual, cultural event for Guelph and the surrounding community, the Festival provides a venue for the work of diverse international artists and activists whose work is not necessarily considered in the mainstream. The festival also serves as a catalyst towards increasing community understanding of the world and its diversity. The goal is also to encourage co-operation between community groups in Guelph and Southern Ontario.
