Robert Bosch Stiftung offers new type of film funding by awarding three great promotional prizes for short film, animated film and documentary film by young German and Eastern/South Eastern Europeans. Robert Bosch Stiftung promotional prize enables the winning filmmakers to carry out their project and acquire skills and experience for their future work in the film business. The main goal is to promote joint film production to encourage lasting exchange and development of European cinema. It is focused on Eastern and Southeastern European filmmakers because of its significant cinematografic tradition and stunning creativity under often difficult conditions. The films acquire a wider audience and a cultural landscape of Eastern Europe. A great oportunity to make new contacts and develop social skills. Applications must be made by team groups. The main partners are TV channel ARTE, the Filmbüro Baden-Württemberg, and the goEast Film Festival in Wiesbaden.

The Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications (RTR-GmbH) was established as the operative arm of KommAustria as well as the Telekom Control Commission to create a convergence regulator under the KommAustria Act (KOG) of April 1, 2001. The tasks of the RTR include the following: Definition of standard payment rates for the right to use land for telecommunication lines, assigning and monitoring the use of communications parameters (e.g., telephone numbers), administration and awarding of grants from the Austrian Digitization Fund and the Austrian Television Endowment.
The Television Fund (FERNSEHFONDS AUSTRIA) is intended to make a contribution to improving the quality of television production and the capacity of the Austrian film industry, as well as reinforcing Austria as a media location and ensuring the diversity of the cultural landscape. In addition, the grants are also intended to contribute to the strengthening of the audiovisual sector in Europe.

The Institution for Cultural-Artistic Programs is, in this country’s long tradition, the institution which worked the longest on the organization of the musical and musical-dramatic programs. The Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program provides year-round support to contemporary-issue nonfiction filmmakers worldwide in the production of cinematic, feature-length documentaries with human rights themes. Services include the Sundance Documentary Fund, three Creative Documentary Labs annually, work-in-progress screenings held at cultural institutions globally, presentations by invitation worldwide, documentary support at the Sundance Film Festival and the Sundance Creative Producing Summit. The Sundance Documentary Fund is a core program of the Sundance Documentary Film Program, granting between $1 and $2 million per year. The Fund is very competitive, generally receiving between 1500 and 2000 applications per year and making 40-60 awards annually. A panel of world-class film professionals and human rights experts conduct a review of each docket. Proposals are evaluated on effective storytelling, originality, artistic approach, global relevance and timeliness and potential for social engagement.
