FilmTecknarna was founded in 1981 by Lars Ohlson, Jonas Odell and Stig Bergqvist. At this time the founders were still attending school, but shared a common interest in drawing and animation. All spare time was spent at the animation desk and many films were produced. In the beginning it was mainly independent short films, but when commercial televsion was introduced in Sweden about 20 years ago, the company started to contribute to this growing market. Since then, the company and its directors have produced a number of commercials for both the Nordic markets and worldwide, as well as award-winning short films and a couple of tv-series for Swedish television. Today the company has 12 fulltime staff, but also work with freelance artists from all over the world. The number of directors has grown to eight; all based in Stockholm . The company has also started to represent freelance directors for commercials and other productions. The nature of the business has grown from being a production and effects company, solely producing animation, to a full service company with sought-after directors. It now produces both classical 2-D animation, CGI and 3D-animation, as well as live-action and mixed media. In recent years a number of music videos for well-known international artists have been produced by the studio. Some of these videos have been awarded at the MTV Music Video awards and nominated for Grammies in the US. The goal for the company is to continue to produce high-quality films and commercials, and to become one of the world´s leading design, animation and filmmaking companies.

Filmtopia is a new production company in development and is being set up by Jen Govey. Jen is currently writing and co-writing projects with the intention of self-production and co-production and started her own production company to facilitate this so she can work independently on projects she is passionate about with talented technicians she loves to work with. Over her many years working professionally in film production, she has collected together a number of experienced talent and this combined with her own knowledge, experience and talent for blending people and ideas should create some really spectacular work. Jen is aiming to achieve something really special with Filmtopia and it is something she has been working towards her whole life. Filmtopia is founded on a love and passion of the craft of film-making, combined with strong integrity of how things should be done with respect for all those involved. Jen has been greatly inspired by the 'gentlemen producers' Lord Lew Grade and Peter Rogers and was brought up in the traditional 'old school' of film-making and wants to combine and blend this with new talent and explore new techniques and ways of thinking. She would like to see Filmtopia grow into a pool of talent that can tapped into by it's members who will give each other support, creatively nourish and spark off ideas with each other - working a bit like an artists colony of film-makers crossed with a Repertory company. Our company produces David Fisher’s films, as well as films by other documentary filmmakers, both young and more experienced. The films we produce are mostly international co-productions. Studio Fishka Film is the successor of the TV company “Life” and the World Russian Television foundation. In 2003 the TV company “Life”, the World Russian Television foundation and the Studio FF celebrated their 10th anniversary on the television market of Russia and other countries. During these years a few series of documentaries and nonfiction films have been created and broadcast by central TV channels of this country, including those nominated for The National Academy Television Award of Russia and presented at international non-fiction festivals. A number of films were broadcast in Germany, France, Israel, Denmark and Japan. Studio FF has its own production base at its disposal, as well as connections in the sphere of marketing and selling its products within Russia, the former USSR countries and in a number of other countries. The art-director of the Studio FF is a scriptwriter and director Irina Vasilieva, producer – a member of the Union of writers of Russia, Candidate of philosophical science Alexander Radov.
