The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is the largest professional association of national broadcasters in the world. Working on behalf of its Members in the European area, the EBU negotiates broadcasting rights for major sports events, operates the Eurovision and Euroradio networks, organizes programme exchanges, stimulates and coordinates co-productions, and provides a full range of other operational, commercial, technical, legal and strategic services. At its office in Brussels, the EBU represents the interests of public service broadcasters vis-ŕ-vis the European institutions.

Established in 1993 as a non-profit organization for promoting the development of documentary film, European Documentary Film Symposiums (EDFS) soon started to produce documentaries alongside organizing various educational projects, promotional events and conferences (most prominently – the International Documentary film symposium every other year).
Since 1996 up to now EDFS has produced six successful documentaries in cooperation with well-known Latvian documentary filmmakers.

All of EDFS’ films have been published in VHS or DVD or both formats. The studio also works with national film heritage preservation projects and thus far has restored and published a compilation DVD of the early films of Riga School of Poetic Documentary master Uldis Brauns (incl. White Bells, 1961) supplemented with a documentary Comeback made especially for the DVD.

European Documentary Network is a meeting point for all professionals, who work with documentary film and television. EDN started in September 1996 as a membership organisation for filmmakers, producers, production companies, distributors, associations, film institutions & boards, universities and festivals, broadcasters and film & television agencies. EDN supports, stimulates and networks within the sector in Europe. One major focus has been to inform the members about possibilities for co-production and other kind of collaboration across the borders. This is done through individual service to members, including consultancy on film projects and through workshops and conferences. And through the indispensable EDN TV Guide and DOX Magazine.

The creation of the European Film Academy (EFA) was the initiative of a group of Europe’s finest filmmakers brought together on the occasion of the first European Film Awards Ceremony held in November 1988. EFA was finally founded in 1989 as the European Cinema Society by its first president Ingmar Bergman and 40 filmmakers to advance the interests of the European film industry.
The European Film Academy (EFA) now unites more than 2,300 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture. Throughout the year, the EFA initiates and participates in a series of activities dealing with film politics as well as economic, artistic, and training aspects. The programme includes conferences, seminars and workshops, and a common goal is to build a bridge between creativity and the industry. These activities culminate in the annual presentation of the European Film Awards.

EUFCN is a non-profit association which supports and promotes the European film industry and culture. Its main goals are to create a network of the most active European Film Commissions; to promote the exchange of information between members; to sustain the development of location searches and shooting opportunities; and to carry out professional and educational activities for members. Furthermore, it is also involved in promoting Film Commission activities with Public Institutions, the European Community and the film industry; conducting projects funded by the European Union; supporting the film industry; organizing seminars and conferences; analyzing the needs of producers of films and TV dramas and meeting these needs. Today, the EUFCN represents 60 European Film Commissions from 20 countries.

Network of Promotion and Export Organisations from 32 European Countries. A key European promotion organization, EFP was launched in 1997 with 10 founding members and has since become a leading international promotion organization in Europe. With an extended membership of 31 organisations, representing 32 different European countries, EFP has throughout the years sought to address the critical issue of improved marketing and promotion of European films.
The network promotes European cinema through its joint initiatives and, at the same time, respects and encourages the individuality and richness of each national cinema of Europe.
EFP’s mandate is three-fold - to increase the visibility of European films at key international film festivals and markets via the presentation of high-profile press, industry and public events, to design initiatives at selected festivals and markets which offer European filmmakers greater access to the international marketplace, and to promote and support Europe’s up-and-coming filmmaking talent.

The European Producers Club (EPC) is an association of influential independent film producers from more than 20 countries across Europe. Founded in 1993 within the framework of the GATS negotiations, we act as a network, a think tank and a lobby in order to participate in the definition of the political and legislative context on a European level. The EPC also coordinates an alliance of 35 national Producer Associations across Europe through the European Producer Associations Alliance (EPAA) to coordinate efforts on both a European and national level. A dedicated team of experts works at the EPC in order to promote international film co-production. For more than seven years, the EPC has been organising training workshops, professional conferences, and networking meetings in Europe and all over the world. In addition to its 50 Members, the EPC fosters a network of over 3,000 industry professionals.
