Film.sk is currently the only monthly on film events published in Slovakia. The aim of the editors of this pocket magazine is to provide information on all the activities and events taking place in our cinematography. The magazine is published by the first day of each month and is also available in its on-line version at www.filmsk.sk . It is sold in cinemas and film club box offices and in selected bookstores in Bratislava and several other Slovak cities (Nitra, Kosice, Presov, Bardejov, Dolny Kubin). The readers can subscribe Film.sk via the subscription coupon that can be found in every issue of the magazine.

Magazine focused on mainstream cinema, but also obscure B film production and minor genres (it is published by Řitka video, which is company specialized in releasing those kind of films on DVDs). The main aim of the magazine is to inform about new DVD releases on Czech market.

Filmhu is an editorial and production office on the Internet. It is the website for Hungarian film and a film cultural and trade forum, where every visitor can access up-to-date information. It is a movie-site, a database, a weekly web- and trade- paper, chat forum, the official site of the Hungarian Film Week and the portal of Hungarian animation. Filmkultura (Filmculture) is a periodical established in 1960. The last printed issue came out in 1995 (their 35th year) and since 1996 Filmkultura has been available on the Internet, in English and Hungarian. With Hungarian National Film Archive as its publisher, it provides readers with the latest information on the restoration and preservation of Hungarian films and the programe of the Archive´s cinema, Budapest´s film museum, the ÖrÖkmozgo (Perpetuum Mobile). A significant part is devoted to Hungarian film history, the traditions to be continued and the values to be preserved.

Published quarterly, FILMMAKER covers the most intriguing independent feature films that will be released in theaters over the subsequent three months. Active filmmakers, directors, producers, cinematographers, writers, and editors throughout the independent film and digital cinema community read FILMMAKER for an incisive look at the industry today.

This monthly for film and video is the longest published Czech film periodical. It first appeared in the year 1939 under the name Film files and provided fundamental information on individual film titles which was meant especially for cinema managers and operators. Since 1950 its name has been Filmový přehled (Film overview) and is still designed for all people from the cinematography field as well as for anyone interested in film. It deals comprehensively with Czech (formerly Czechoslovak) film distribution. Since 1993 it has been issued by the National Film Archive. In succint form the periodical provides detailed information on all titles in the Czech distribution and occasionally also on titles from the video market production. Each text about a particular title brings complete technical data including the production staff and cast, next a short assessment, a concise content of the film and finally the filmography of one of its makers. In Filmový přehled there are also regularly appearing sections concerning statistical data on film market both in our country and abroad, various charts and tables, synopses of domestic and foreign festivals, information about various film events or film literature. An important section brings obituaries of domestic and foreign film makers. The format of the journal is also unique. It is published in size A5 lengthwise without any photographs. Individual titles are arranged alphabetically and printed on one sheet each, which makes it possible to use them as filing cards. So the reader can 'work' with the periodical according to their individual needs. The importance of the periodical lies not only in its topicality and detailed information but also in its archival value.

Filmvilag is a monthly film review published on 64+4 pages with a colour cover. With its circulation at between 9000 to 9500, it is one of the leading Hungarian cultural journals. It is a non-profit cultural venture that works as a foundation for the public interest. Filmvilag has been published in its present form since September 1979.
