The National Film School of Denmark is a state school, financially supported by the Danish Ministry of Cultural Affairs. The school was founded in 1966 by Theodor Christensen and is beautifully situated on the small island of Frederiksholm in the harbour of Copenhagen. There are four study programmes available: film, TV, scriptwriting and animation directing. The number of students is 96: 60 film students, 6 scriptwriters, 18 TV students and 12 animation directors. All lines of study are 4-year programmes, except the scriptwriting course that lasts 3 years. In order to be admitted to the National Film School of Denmark, the candidate must be able to speak and understand Danish.

The National Film School (Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa Telewizyjna i Teatralna Łódż) was founded in Lodz in 1948. From the start there were two distinct departments within the school: Film Directing and Cinematography. Initially the tuition programme was limited to small, simple group productions, but soon films headed by individual students began to emerge - shot always on the professional standard 35 mm format. Amongst the first students were directors: Andrzej Munk, Andrzej Wajda, Janusz Morgenstern, who at the end of the fifties became famous as the founders of the Polish School in film, and cinematographers such as Jerzy Wojcik, Witold Sobocinski, Mieczysław Jahoda ,Wiesław Zdort, Adam Holender did the same in the field of cinematography. The teaching programme has always consisted of two parts: theoretical, technological and practical, consisting of excercises and films made by both directors and camera students.
