The Wood Green International Short Film Festival presents a selection of short films, live debates and other filmmaking events. Films are awarded in the following categories: 1/ Best Local Film, 2/ Best of British and Irish Film, 3/ Best International Film, 4/ Best Animation.

Festival of Slovak Local TV Stations. Since 1999, LOToS has organized this annual festival of local TV station production. The main focus of Workshop is to evaluate and compare the production of small TV stations once every year. It is not only a review of the best programs produced by local TVs in Slovakia but, as it is clear from the title of the event, it is a professional meeting for wide discussions of issues of small TV stations. Thus, professional seminars are important parts of the Workshop, besides its competition section. During the several days of the event, the members of the professional jury not only evaluate the production but also analyse it in order to solve the problematic sections. The Workshop provides space for networking for new coproductions and program exchange projects.

An annual competition of all art forms related to the underwater world. The programme is made up of competitions for colour and b&w photographs, films, AV montage with sound, slides, books, music and websites.

WorldFest was founded 50 years ago as Cinema Arts, an International Film Society in August, 1961. WorldFest became the third competitive international film festival in North America, following San Francisco and New York. WorldFest is the oldest Independent Film & Video Festival in the World. It evolved into a competitive International Film Festival in April, 1968. It was founded by award-winning producer/director Hunter Todd to present a quality film festival for the Independent filmmakers. Hunter Todd has been honored with more than 115 international awards for creative excellence in film production, and he has been the producer, director, writer and/or cameraman on more than 300 motion picture and video productions. The mission/vision statement of WorldFest is - to recognize and honor outstanding creative excellence in film & video, to validate brilliant abilities and to promote cultural tourism for Houston, to develop film production in the region and to add to the rich cultural fabric of the city of Houston. All members of the WorldFest staff are filmmakers.

Worldfilm - Tartu Festival of Visual Culture is a non-competitive film event that screens approx. forty films every year. The festival welcomes film entries from all over the world, especially independent films that are not part of mainstream commercial filmmaking and which develop an anthropological, analytical approach to cultures and societies. The priority will be given to documentary films, but other genres (fiction, animation) will also be considered as part of the programme. Submissions by film students are encouraged. The event is open to filmmakers, researchers, students and others, and the organizers try to provide an environment where filmmakers can discuss their work with colleagues and audiences. Authors of the submitted films are invited to introduce their films and discuss them after the screening.

Wroclawski Festiwal Filmowy Najnowsze Kino Polskie is a competition of Polish films. The film budget must not exceed two million zlotys. The festival accepts full-length feature, documentary and animated films| short films can also be submitted in the same categories.

Located in Os, home-base for an internationally renowned sculpture symposium and a nationally beloved Jazz and Blues festival, the WT is the only free film festival in Norway. There is no entry fee and there are no ticket costs, so one need simply walk in to the film screening they want to see. The festival program features approximately 40-50 films in all categories.

The festival was founded more than 30 years ago, and presents full-length features, documentaries, children's and short films. The festival programme includes both big studio premieres and new films from the independent scene.

Festival (biennial, odd years) is focused on the young documentary filmmakers around the world, encourages them to continue in breaking their own limits and enlarging the borders of the possible expression while following the theme of the documentary film. The programme brings documentaries which promote better co-operation and understanding between people and cultures by presenting new achievements in international documentary film.

Zagreb Film Festival is a competitive festival that presents and awards new film authors wit their features, short and documentary films, and the Festival of the First establishes the value of debutants' achievements in various areas of creative expression. Both festivals wish to recognise innovativeness and encourage interdisciplinary method and dialogue among creative professions. This is why they are taking place at the same time on the premises of the Student centre, and this is why they regard the young as their primary audience. Moreover, both festivals also desire, in a broader generation context, to contribute to the consciousness of exploring the new creative possibilities.

A film festival dedicated to the Holocaust. Zagreb Jewish Film Fest promotes Jewish culture through its rich film program, screenings, musical events, meetings with world known film directors, producers and actors, thus educating through movies about the Holocaust, tolerance and mutual values being a foundation of happy coexistence in different national and religious surroundings. The film program, divided into two parts, consists of short, documentary and feature movies. The first part are the movies dealing with the Holocaust themes, mostly attuned to the theme the festival is dedicated to, and the second part are night screenings of contemporary Jewish film, mostly of Israeli production.

The main aim of the festival is to give the local audience an insight into the contemporary documentary production and also to create the place where the audience, filmmakers and other professionals could meet and exchange their views, ideas and discuss future projects. ZagrebDox will put special emphasis on regional production and its authors with long term goal of strengthening and encouraging South East European cooperation, as well as overstepping the gap toward western European documentary producing and co-producing. Apart from a number of non-competing programs, workshops and discussions, there will be two competitions: international and regional (for the films coming from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Montenegro and Slovenia).

Zagrebi! EkoFestival is a platform where all interested parties of the social, economic and political life in Croatia have the chance to show their projects and achievements in the field of enviromental protection and sustainable development. Every year the Festival hosts different media authors who question the social engagement of art and eco matureness of our society with their work. The Festival attempts to promote the dialogue and cooperation between the individual and his society, with one goal – to contribute to the creation of a healthier social and natural enviroment for future generations.

ZeLIG Film Fest presents films made by student of the three-year-training-cycle of ZeLIG School for Documentary, mostly their diploma films.

Bilbao City Hall, in cooperation with the Bizkaia Provincial Council, the Basque Government Department of Culture and the Ministry of Culture (ICAA), organize ZINEBI – International Festival of Documentary and Short Film under the theme Understanding Between Men Through Pictures The event is recognized as an international event of a competitive nature by the International Federation of Associations of Film Producers (FIAPF).

Festival Zlínský pes is an event which offers students and the general public alike competition screenings of student films, practical education in the form of workshops, seminars and lectures and obviously communication between an international mix of film students and professionals, bringing opportunities to discuss film education, trends in animation and the student film scene. The festival also continues to offer a rich variety of accompanying events which always bring the student community and the public together in a natural way. These include: theatre performances, concerts and musical events, exhibitions, and non-competition screenings.

The Znojmo Grape International Television and Radio Festival of Gastronomy is an international competition that presents documentary films and entertainment television and radio programmes focused on gastronomy and related lifestyle themes. The festival has three main sections: 1 TV informative, documentary, educational and entertainment programmes - cooking shows, culinary geography, lifestyle shows related to food&drink, programmes focused on food products; 2 Radio commentaries, documentaries, educational and entertainment programmes; 3 Gastronomy commercials - alcoholic beverages – beer, alcoholic beverages – wine, liqueurs and others, soft drinks, food products. The festival schedule also offers exhibitions, food and culture presentations of selected countries, sommelier competition and seminars.

The aim of the Zoom Igualada Festival is to promote and support European TV drama and made-for-TV films so as to bring the spectator closer to programmes that can only be seen on television. All production companies, TV channels and directors may join as long as they have the due legal control over the films in the competition. The jury will be made up of professionals from the cinema and TV sectors. The festival will present the following awards: Jury Award for the best TV film: € 3,000, Audience Award for best TV film: € 1,000, Special Award for best TV film script: € 500.

The Zurich Film Festival presents feature and documentary films by young directors (first, second and third films). The festival jury awards the best films with the Golden Eye Award. The programme offers the following sections: 1/ Debut, 2/ New Fiction Film, 3/ New Documentary, 4/ Neue Welt Sicht, 5/ OneDotZero, 6/ Tribute, 7/ Late Night Special. There are also other special events and discussions for film professionals and audiences.
