The Adam Mickiewicz Institute is a government cultural institution which aims to popularize Polish culture around the world and cooperate on cultural projects with other countries. The Institute (initially called the Centre for International Cultural Cooperation - Adam Mickiewicz Institute, or IAM) was founded in 2000. Founded in 1992, Addoc (Association des cinéastes documentaristes) provides a space for encounters and reflection for filmmakers, technicians, and anybody involved in documentary film creation. The association has always had a dual goal. On the one hand, it is concerned with defending author documentaries, from conception to broadcasting. And on the other, it seeks to encourage debate about documentary cinema, encouraging reflection and exchange from experience. The association has a range of activities as diverse as the issues it defends: we organise debates at festivals, and workshops and projections for the public; we also promote the publication of works, and documentary awareness events.
