Established in 2001, DocPoint is the largest documentary film festival in the Nordic region. In Finland, it is the only one dedicated solely to documentary films. Every year, the festival offers both a national and an international selection of the latest movies, celebrated classics, and a special selection of documentary films for children. In addition, a wide range of seminars, lectures and workshops is organised. There is no official selection procedure for non-national films. The international program of the festival is based on thematic selections that are not published prior to the presentation of the program. Filmmakers can, nevertheless, send an email with the synopsis of their film or send a screener (DVD or VHS Pal) to DocPoint's address.

Docs in Thessaloniki is organized by EDN, European Documentary Network in collaboration with the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival - Images of the 21st Century, which includes a national & international program as well as a doc market and parallel events. The participants of the Pitching Forum will have access to the festival. The programme schedule consists of 5 days intensive training and information, including a general overview of the world market situation for documentaries, case studies, lectures, pitching sessions, group and individual sessions. DocsBarcelona (Pitching Forum) extended its activities with regard to the general public and in 2007 organized its first showcase of documentary films. The DocsBarcelona Festival was conceived to offer viewers a selection of carefully chosen series of films made by internationally renowned documentary filmmakers. The festival has the following categories: 1/ Panorama - dedicated to recent documentary productions, 2/ Le Dernier Repas - an experienced documentary professional selects his or her favourite documentary films, 3/ History - documentaries with innovative approaches to historical narration, 4/ 12 - 16 - documentaries targeting teenagers between the ages of 12 and 16.

The Pitching Forum is the DocsBarcelona branch that serves the documentary industry. DOCSIDE Production was formed by - and replaces – MVC (a production company owned by Sylvie Barbe and Jean-Marc Robert, created in 1993) and ATOM, (a production company owned by Yves Bourgeois, created in 1989).
This rapprochement between MVC and ATOM arises after several years of working under the same roof and coproducing together (Trafalgar, 52’ for ARTE, Santo Planet Island, 110’ for France 3 and 2 × 52 for France 5).
DOCSIDE Production’s goal is to produce documentaries, dramas, and corporate films that bear witness to great human adventures, the discovery and understanding of the world and its history, and that investigate contemporary issues.

Docstories Black Sea – Storytelling in Documentary Film is a workshop aimed at developing creative documentary projects and innovative non-fiction formats in the greater Black Sea region.
The workshop is organized in partnership with the Noosfera Foundation (Georgia) and the Georgian National Film Center.
Documentary filmmakers, producers, editors, authors, commissioning editors and other TV or media professionals from Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Byelorussia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia may apply. A limited number of EU-nationals from countries outside of the Black Sea region will be also accepted as long as they make proof of their interest to co-produce in the greater Black Sea region.

Since 2003, all the documentary hits are traditionally screened at Docudays UA, the only one international human rights documentary film festival in Ukraine. Every year famous filmmakers and talented young screenwriters, film directors and producers from Europe, America, Asia and Africa come to Kyiv to present their films and take part in discussions, round tables, workshops, etc. About 400 films from more than 120 countries were submitted for 8th edition of Docudays UA in 2011. More than 24 000 viewers attended Docudays UA in 2011. Therefore Docudays UA is considered to be the largest information campaign on human rights in Ukraine. The main purpose of the Festival is raising the level of Ukrainian documentary films, promotion of an open dialogue on moral problems in society, human rights, understanding of human dignity as the supreme value, creating the foundation for democratic future of the country. Since 2006, Docudays UA is a member of the Human Rights Film Network (HRFN).

The festival wants to develop, strengthen and disseminate documentary film as an audiovisual medium. The Documentary Campus Masterschool, a European masterclass in project development of documentary films for an international audience, forms the central core of our training initiative. It offers professionals a unique opportunity to find their way into the international non-fiction market and get their documentary project financed. Under the aegis of the Documentary Campus Masterschool, which makes a call for submissions once a year, up to 15 European authors and directors develop their documentaries. The range of genres developed in the Masterschool encompasses all kinds of creative documentaries, series, formats or multiplatform. All non-fiction formats that are internationally distributed are supported. The Masterschool consists of four main workshops that target story development and scriptwriting; international coproduction and financing; distribution and marketing; and project presentation and pitching.
