Since 2004, the production company lesfilmsduprésent (carrying on the activity of Heure d’été Productions – 1994 to 2003) has produced mainly creative documentaries which endeavour to question the world that surrounds us in all its complexity.

LES FILMS DU TAMBOUR DE SOIE has produced documentaries for 25 years. The company was founded in 1987, its name inspired by our first production of a theatre play by Mishima (Aya no Tzuzumi or The Silk Drum). In 1993 the company settled in Marseilles, developing an editorial focus on films about art and the Mediterranean culture. LES FILMS DU TAMBOUR DE SOIE work regularly with National French Museums (the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, Georges Pompidou) and produce every year between six and eight hours of programmes for French broadcasters (Arte, France 5 and France 3) and foreign channels (RTBF in Belgium, TSR in Switzerland and YLE in Finland). They were selected in 2001, 2004 and 2011 for the Prix du Producteur Français (French Producer Award) granted by the PROCIREP. Today their catalogue contains more than a hundred films distributed by Doc&Co, Andana Films, Terranoa, France Télévision Distribution and Arte Distribution. Les Poissons Volants – Since 1989, independent production compagny Les Poissons Volants has produced documentary and feature films for television and cinema. Les Poissons Volants defends above all strong directorial voices in order to produce quality works.

LI Produkcija is an independent production company founded by Primož Ledinek in 2007. It supports young, promising directors interested to work in the field of creative documentaries. It represents new and fresh energy in Slovenian film production. LI produkcija is a member of the EDN. It has already produced several documentary films including Šentilj-Spielfeld a Border Crossing That Once Was by Matjaž Ivanišin (Sponsorship award, ESEC Euro media awards 2009, Austria, best Slovene mid-length documentary film, DokMa 2009, Slovenia, in competition at the Slovenian film festival (FSF), 2009, Cinema zone Trieste film festival 2010, Italy and the regional program Zagrebdox 2010, Croatia), Where the Stags Graze by Marko Šantić, Stage 57 by Darko Sinko and Terminus Factory by Nina Blažin.

Libra Film is the only Romanian production company which has been granted twice (2009 and 2011) development support by MEDIA Program of EU for its slate of projects including features and documentaries. In 2008, Libra was also the Romanian partner for Kornél Mundruczó’s Cannes competition film Delta, awarded with FIPRESCI award, was co-producing (together with Alfama Films – France) the directorial debut of actress Fanny Ardant, Ashes and Blood (premiered in Cannes 2009) and was the main producer behind Crossing Dates by Anca Damian (Romanian-Finnish coproduction) and Kino Caravan by Titus Muntean, co-production with Filmkombinat (Germany). Between 2008-2010, Libra was also involved in production of three TV documentaries: Australia, by Claudiu Mitcu, broadcast in July 2009 on HBO Romania.

With offices in Hungary and Uruguay, Librecine specializes in documentary and television productions for the international market (ARTE, ZDF, Chello Multicanal, Odisea, Mezzo, Arts Channel Australia). Librecine participated at the 2004 DCM with the documentary Stalin City Cantata. We developed and were associate producers of the 2008 FIPA D’Or Prix winner “A Different Way: Tango with Rodolfo Mederos”. Our latest production, “El destello” was in official competition in 2011 at Visions du Réel, BAFICI and É Tudo Verdade. We are currently in post-production with Adagio, a film about the legacy of Uruguay’s military dictatorship, and financing The Ways of the Wind, a feature documentary following six children in the most remote areas of South-America.

Established by Wolfgang Bergmann, LICHTFILM is a production company with a track record for well-made, artistic documentaries. Our films depict purposefully direct encounters with people from all backgrounds: visionaries, victims and high-flyers, to name but a few. We present the protagonists as they really are, speaking out in their own idiom. We would not put words into their mouth or pay them to make statements. We do not make films for the self-aggrandisement of directors nor do we slavishly follow pre-ordained dramaturgy or bow to outside pressures. We are interested in delving deep, even into harsh reality. Formerly our films were largely about historical subjects but now we focus more on visions of the future and how the present is predicated on the past.
