EAUX VIVES PRODUCTIONS was founded in autumn 2008, and produces short films, features, and documentaries. This company produces films by directors who are open to others, and who have a lucid and/or out-of-theordinary view of today's world, the past, and the future. Also heading up the company's priorities are the defense of cultures and the selection of subjects questioning the different forms of (personal or political) involvement. The common thread in Eaux Vives films is a concern for tomorrow: future generations, culture, social issues, ecology... that is, the values connected to sustainable development. Eaux Vives seeks to promote the emergence of directors who come from other visual arts such as painting, photography, or video, thus creating a bridge between different forms of artistic expression.

EAVE’s flagship programme has been running for over twenty years and has created a thriving network of over 1000 graduates.
It is a year long programme focused on three intensive weeks featuring professional development through working on the development of fiction and documentary projects. Each year some 50 producers from around 30 European countries work on script and project development, financing, financial planning and company development, legal issues of co-production, marketing, packaging and pitching. During the final week of the programme 40–50 ‘decision makers’ – leading television commissioning editors, sales agents, distributors, representatives of regional and national funds and senior producers – meet the participants to discuss their projects, companies and plans. Participants can attend with or without a project and writers are encouraged to attend the first two weeks. The Workshop is also open to other members of the industry, for example lawyers and people working with media agencies and sales companies.
The European Producers Workshop has created an extremely active and successful network which has enabled participants to form long term co-producing relationships. Films developed during the programme and those subsequently produced by EAVE graduates have won major prizes at all the world’s leading festivals.

Started in 1947, the EIFF is one of the true homes of innovative and exciting cinema. For over half-a-century, the Festival has presented some of cinema's most important and exciting moments and played host to the world's greatest filmmakers. The longest continually running film festival in the world, it has come a long way from its beginnings as a documentary-based festival established in the wake of World War II. During the 1960s, EIFF introduced the Retrospective. In the 70s and 80s, the Festival consolidated its reputation as a pioneering force for UK audiences, screening films from the New German Cinema, the new wave of American Independents, homages to the masters of Japanese Cinema, pioneering studies of black and feminist filmmakers. The festival programme includes British and international feature, documentary, short, animated and experimental films, retrospectives and other special events.
