EURODOC is a training programme designed for European documentary producers developing a specific project with international potential & commissioning executives from the documentary departments of the broadcasters or from partners in the sector.
For more than 12 years now, EURODOC has made its contribution to the training and networking of European producers and funding partners focusing on the development of ambitious documentary projects comprising a wide variety of narrative styles and production modes.
This network currently functions in a systematic manner. Its members share the same approach and are committed to defending the documentary genre.
By working with non-European participants, thanks to the support of MEDIA Mundus, we are pursuing this work with an open mind and curiosity concerning the new formats and outlets for documentaries in order to help new generations of producers deal with a fast-changing market.
Since its creation, EURODOC has worked with 660 professionals from 52 countries (participants and/or consultants). More than 150 films have been produced and twenty are currently in production.
Every year, EURODOC propose a 3 training modules over a period of 8 months in residential workshops, in 3 different European countries.
Every stage of the work (and every level within the profession) is studied in great detail (know-how and ethics): Project assessment, work on the development and the script with the filmmakers, negotiation of rights (author/filmmaker, archives, music), budgeting, "packaging", "trailers", identification of financial partners, drafting of co-production agreements, production mode, management of the production company in relation with specialised banking establishments, promotion and distribution.
New call for applications is open. Applicants can register until October 22, 2012. Here is the link for applying on line : http://www.eurodoc-net.com/en/prg/participants.php
