www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Commissioned and financed by Cultural Affairs, Skåne and the Swedish Film Institute, Film i Skåne has been in operation since 1995. Film i Värmland

Film i Värmland is a regional center for film, founded in 1995. Film i Värmland is a co-producer of short films and documentaries and tries to establish a strong infrastructure that would contribute to the development of the film and media industry in the region. The annual budget is 6,000,000 SEK; 600,000 SEK is used as co-production means. In the years 1997-2005 Film i Värmland supported or co-produced some 80 shorts and documentary films.

Film i Väst

Film i Väst is a regional resource and production centre for film, founded in 1992. In the last six years Film i Väst has co-produced more than 90 feature films. Film i Väst is financed by local authorities in north-west Västra Götaland, the European Union Regional Development Fund, the Swedish Film Institute, and its own earnings. Film i Västerbotten

The film center is run by the county council of Västerbotten with support of the Swedish Film Institute. The aim of the center is to support the art of film in the region and to provide information and funding for anyone involved in film production and distribution. Explore the roles of the Producer, Production Manager (UPM) and Assistant Director (AD). Examine the procedures, attitudes, techniques and paperwork needed to plan and run a large or small film production. You will scout locations, break down a feature film script, create a production board, shooting schedule, “day-out-of-days,” and film budget. Over the course of 3 intensive days, you'll be taught by Tom Kane, a highly successful film producer, who has 30 years experience in the "business" and over 50 feature and television films and TV series to his credit.
