Founded in 2004, Finnagora is one of the 17 culture and science institutes of Finland.
Finnagora operates in the fields of culture exportation, education, science and economy. Extensive cooperation with our Finnish, Hungarian and international network with our deep knowledge of the Finnish culture and know-how form the basis of our operation.
Finnagora was founded by the Finnagora foundation, which comprises of Finnish cities, universities, companies and civic organizations. Finnagora is also member of EUNIC, the European Union National Institutes for Culture network.
Culture

The Finnish Film Foundation’s task is to support and develop Finnish film production, distribution and exhibition. The Finnish Film Foundation is an independent foundation which is supervised by the Department for Cultural Policy in the Ministry of Education. The Foundation is supported by grants from the Finnish National Lottery and by the Finnish Broadcasting Company, and it grants film production support, exhibition and distribution support and support for international activities. On the grounds of a contract made with the Ministry of Education, the Foundation grants support for international film festivals held in Finland which also have national significance. The Finnish Film Foundation is integrally responsible for the cultural export of Finnish film. It receives approx. EUR 8.7 million per year, and subsidizes about ten feature films and 35 short and documentary films every year.

FIPA was created in 1987 in order to encourage the development of a quality TV programming in the world. It is a leading audiovisual event and also the first international event presenting the greatest number of European programs. Thousands of professionals from all five continents have visited the festival since its establishment, and the 2005 edition welcomed more than 2300 professionals from 60 countries. The festival presents a wide range of dramas, series and serials, creative documentary films, reportages and current affairs, performing arts, short programs,special screenings, aspects of French production, aspects of French international coproduction, homages and audiovisual history.

The First Factual Films Festival (F4) is a screening program held during the Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC). Co-presented by AIDC and the Media Resource Centre, F4 showcases first films from Australian documentary filmmakers at the start of their careers alongside the first films of legendary documentary masters attending the AIDC. Screening over three evenings at the Mercury Cinema, F4 concludes with the presentation of the F4 Award for Outstanding New Documentary Talent to one exceptional filmmaker. The F4 Award is judged by the F4 master filmmakers and a panel of high profile international documentary professionals. Each evening features the first film of a master documentarian alongside the films of several first filmmakers, contextualised by introductions and Q & A discussions around the documentaries and their makers.
