ICTV (International Commercial Television) is a privately held TV Channel in Ukraine. Its coverage area allows it to be received by 56.6 % of Ukrainian population making the channel the fourth in the nation by the coverage (trailing the state-controlled UT-1 and privately held Inter and 1+1) and third (well ahead of UT-1) by the viewers ratings.

The Instituto do Cinema e do Audiovisual, I. P. (ICA, I.P.) arose from the restructuring of the Instituto do Cinema, Audiovisual e Multimédia (ICAM), essentially to bring greater precision to the functioning of this Institute than before, and in a way which, in the approach of the cinematographic and audiovisual sector and in the support to the creation, production, exploitation and dissemination and other activities in the area of cinema, would take into account the new forms and opportunities of production and distribution or broadcasting of cinematographic works.

The first IIFF was held in 2005 and attracted more than 15 000 people. The festival is owned by the Icelandic cinemas and the main film distributors in Iceland. The festival programme includes a selection of international independent features, American independent features, international documentary films, and premieres.

The Icelandic Dramatists´ Union is an independent organization of playwrights and scriptwriters in Iceland. Its main purpose is the protection of the artistic, moral and pecuniary rights of its members, and the promotion of contemporary Icelandic playwrighting. The Icelandic Dramatists´ Union is the authorized party to make framework agreements with all theatres in Iceland and jointly with The Writers' Union of Iceland makes other agreements, i. e. with Icelandic radio- and television stations. The Icelandic Dramatists´ Union is a member of The Nordic Union of Playwrights and a founding member of the Fédération des Scénaristes d’Europe / The Federation of Scriptwriters in Europe.

The Icelandic Film & TV Academy (IKSA) unites the film makers associations in Iceland in co-owned organisation, which aim is to enhance the Icelandic film and TV industry. For pursuing this goal, the Academy operates the EDDA Awards, the annual film and TV awards in Iceland. The EDDA awards are the Icelandic film scene harvesting festival with the aim to encourage professionalism in the industry. Members of the Academy vote on the work and individuals that are awarded each year. The Icelandic Film & TV Academy is a member of Film Academies Network of Europe and is responsible for nominating Iceland’s submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The Academy published for years the industry magazine ‘Land og synir’, with the affiliating website. With a growing number of media focusing on Icelandic film and TV content, the publication was put on hold in fall 2011, mainly due to difficulties in raising funds for the operations. The Icelandic Film & TV Academy was formed in 1999 and the first EDDA Awards where handed out that year. The Academy is a private limited company owned and operated by: Association of Icelandic Film Makers (FK); Association of Icelandic Film Producers (SIK); Film Directors Guild of Iceland (SKL).

The role of the Icelandic Film Board is to give advice and make proposals to the Culture Minister about public policy and objectives in the matters of film art. The Minister appoints members of the Film Board for a three year term; the chairman and vice-chairman without nomination, and the other five members after nominations from the following organisations: The Association of Film Producers, The Association of Icelandic Film Directors, The Icelandic Filmmakers Association, The Association of Cinema Owners and The Icelandic Artists Alliance.

The Icelandic Film Centre is required by law to support production, distribution and promotion of Icelandic films, gather information about Icelandic films and publish it, advance film culture in Iceland and encourage stronger links between Icelandic filmmakers and the international film community. In 2003, the Icelandic Film Centre took over all the duties and responsibilities of the former Icelandic Film Fund, apart from running the Film Archive, which became an independent body. Applications for grants are handled by film commissioners and the director will then make the final decision about financial support, based on the conditions set forward in the regulation on the Film Fund. The grants made by the Icelandic Film Fund are divided between the various branches of filmmaking as follows: full-length feature films; documentaries and short films; television fiction.

Founded in 1987 by Fridrik Thor Fridriksson, The Icelandic Film Corporation is Iceland's leading film production company, producing or co-producing the majority of all feature films made in Iceland. IFC is currently developing or producing 80 per cent of all projects from directors and writers in Iceland and has for the past ten years been the main employer and trainer of film professionals, both artistic and technical.

The Icelandic Film Academy offers a comprehensive two-year course in filmmaking.

ICF provides financial instruments for the establishment of new companies and the modernization of existing ones, in order to increase the overall competitive edge of the different sectors of production. ICF is authorised to set up specific credit schemes and one such scheme is intended for audiovisual production. The distribution sector may also access loans but through the general and not the audiovisual scheme.

The task of the Catalan Institute of Culture is to encourage and develop cultural industries in Catalunya. The institute gives support for the development of film projects, development of scripts in Catalan, production of documentary films by independent producers, AV education and training, promotion of Catalan films at international festivals, production of feature films in Catalan, distribution of Catalan-language versions of feature films, etc.

The responsibilities of ICS relating to the media include: collaborating in the definition, execution and evaluation of policies for the sector; implementing and co-ordinating allocation of State subsidies for the media; collaborating in the definition and execution of the external policy of Portugal in the area of media and participating in the external representation of the State as regards that sector; promoting and supporting initiatives aimed at work on communications policies and related matters.

DocuWeeks helped to qualify outstanding new feature and short documentaries for Academy Award consideration, by providing its participants with a seven-day commercial theatrical run in Los Angeles County and in the Borough of Manhattan. Starting this year the IDA Documentary Screening Series replaces DocuWeeks. The new screening series will bring some of the year’s best documentary films to IDA members as well as members of AMPAS and industry guilds with the goal of increasing voting participation in the documentary award categories. Each screening will include a Q&A with the filmmakers, which will be recorded and made available on documentary.org, on our YouTube channel, and through the filmmakers themselves.

With more than 100 films shown every year - most of them Austrian premieres - Identities has become Vienna's second largest international film event. The festival program offers an overview of queer productions on gay and lesbian subjects, and gender issues. The program is diverse mix of current feature films, documentaries and shorts complemented by a wide array of special sections about pressing current and historic issues and topics from a queer point of view but certainly with a general relevance to society.
