The Latin American Film Festival aims to show recent films that give a kaleidoscopic view of the richness and diversity of the Latin American film. From magic-realism to the new Latin American and Mexican cinema to the Chilean film art. The festival accepts submissions by Latin American filmmakers and also filmmakers from other countries whose production has a Latin American (or related) theme. Feature films, short films and documentaries are welcome for the pre-selection.

The fourth edition of Latin Side of the Doc will take place in Mexico for the first time, a co-production audiovisual meeting that focuses on the documentary genre, in which filmmakers, producers, TV production companies and funds; this event will take place in Mexico City from November 7 to 9, 2012. A three-day co-production and networking event it will gather Producers and Decision Makers from both sides of the Atlantic initiate international co-production projects, share their experiences and mutual needs, and strive to build a strong international documentary filmmaking network. This initiative emerges from the collaboration between Sunny Side of the Doc, an important International co-production meeting with La Rochelle, France as its host city, and DocsDF, the International Documentary Film Festival of Mexico City.

Latina Film Commission, with the contribution of the Lazio Regional Council, institutes a specific fund to promote and support initiatives of cinema and audiovisual production to be realized in the Province of Latina. The goal is to enhance the area’s resources promoting the development of the audiovisual sector, to promote awareness of the Province and to arise interest in the professionals, in order to interact with the structures and the professionals that operate in the same territory.
The allocation of the fund will be carried out through the competition “Narrate the Province of Latina: its stories, its people, its territory”. The fund will be allocated to two projects, selected from those received within the deadline.

LATSFILMA was registered as a Latvian Limited Company on February 18, 2004 . Latsfilma has produced 2 feature films, Augstuma robeza (Maximum Headroom), the only Latvian feature film which was released in 2005.
Maxiumum Headroom participated in the Market at the Cannes Film Festival 2005. Maximum Headroom was screened around Latvia at towns and villages during the summer 2006, meeting the audience requirements for automatic financing of a new project by the Latvian National Film Board, which was granted in early 2006.
Latsfilma together with its Latvian co-producer Screen Vision finished the feature film Don’t Talk About It. Film completed at August 31, 2007. Film was nominated as best film in Latvia year 2007, nominated for the main role and the supported role. Film distributed by Baltic Cinemas in Riga and by Latsfilma ltd. In Latvia territory. More than 10 000 audience .
Latsfilma has finished a documentary project, A Ticket to the Future. Another project, The head for 100 0000 USD in production.
Latsfilma is in the post production period with a children’s feature film, Finding Elvis.
A Ticket to The Future (documentary, 58 min., coo-production with Sweden)have been shown at schools around Latvia from May to October 2007, as it is a fitting subject – career and future educational choices by school leavers. More than 5000 audience.. This is good result for documentary film.

The Archive was founded in 1963 on the basis of the collection of the Department of the photo-documents of Latvia State Historical Archive. The depositories of the Archive contain approximately 24 thousand films dated from 1910 till nowadays. The Archive keeps more then 508 thousand photo records, the first one being dated from 1865. The number of sound recordings exceeds a little bit more than and 30 thousand units. The collection is constantly increasing due to the close co-operation with mass media of Latvia and other producers of audio-visual records.

Latvian Filmmakers Union is a nation-wide public organization uniting professional filmmakers and craftsmen. Its main objective is to represent and defend their professional and social interests. Almost 40 years this organization unites the Latvian filmmakers. Many of them have been awarded in domestic and international film festivals. To avoid hurting their self-respect, they are mentioned in the abstract alphabetic order: Aloizs Brencs, Hercs Franks, Talivaldis Margevics, Ivars Seleckis, Davis Simanis, Janis Streics. The late Juris Podnieks and Andris Slapins also were members of the Filmmakers Union.

Gabriel Chabanier chooses to support the production of film projects
that are fully developed and written in a distinctive style, with formally
innovative direction. The distinctive feature of his work as a producer is
the combination of the interest he takes in established documentary
makers on the one hand, on the other hand, his appreciation of working
with young film makers, dedicating time to the important development of

Gabriel Chabanier produces films and documentary collections in the
fields of science, the arts and society.
In the framework of his global activities, Gabriel Chabanier is a member
of several professional organisations : the SPI, the C7, the AST
(Association of scientific film producers), and an alternative member of
the Procirep. He has also participated to the European training cessions
EAVE in 1998 and Eurodoc 2006.
