The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Lisbon Docs is an international financing and coproduction forum for documentary film, organized by EDN (European Documentary Network) and AporDoc (The Portuguese Documentary Association), which takes place in the framework of doclisboa - International Film Festival. During Lisbon Docs, 21 documentary projects will be developed in the intense workshop, pitched to a panel of leading broadcasters and individually matched for meeting with potential collaborators. Lisbon Docs is open for all European documentary professionals and has a limited number of seats for participants coming from outside Europe. Submissions are accepted from professionals, who want to take part in an intense creative dialogue and development process as well as present their project to potential financiers and co-producers. In the past Lisbon Docs has proven to be successful in pushing filmmakers into the international scene.

Specialists of audio-visual art are educated at the Lithuanian Academy of Music (LMA) since 1970. The same year the first group of students was selected at the Department of Drama to graduate as TV directors. This group became the core of Lithuanian TV directors. From the beginning the program of TV directing was oriented to educate qualified, wide profile TV directors able to create TV films and performances, to manage various artistic and other kind broadcasts, to lead TV studio departments, to work as a teachers. LMA is the only school in Lithuania offering the following programs of audiovisual art: TV directing, film directing, sound directing, art of cameraman, film, theatre and music management. Bachelor Degree studies: Duration – four years (8 Semesters). Master Degree studies: Duration – two years (4 Semesters).
