Held in various locations in Manhattan’s historic Greenwich Village, the NYTVF will celebrate television as an institution and an art form, from its distinguished history with New York City to its role in contemporary society. In addition to the competitions, the festival will honor television’s rich heritage with classic screenings, panel discussions, and interactive events paying tribute to the industry and its impact on American culture.

The NFTVM (New Film- and TV Makers) was founded in 1996 by several young Dutch professionals in the film and television industry. Its goal is to be a platform on which both new and more experienced film- and tv makers get to meet and exchange ideas.

“NIKE TV Production” produces mainly environmental, social and lifestyle projects, but also educational entertainment. Medium lengths documentaries, focusing on important figures of the Czech artistic scene that became well-known outside the country’s borders, form a vital part of the Company’s production. And last but not least there are commercial projects, advertisements, promotional material and documentaries that promote unique face of Czech countryside and architecture. “NIKE TV Production” co-produced more than 150 programmes with Czech Television and it produced tens of programmes in English and German for foreign distributors. Miloslav Smidmajer, Helena Trestikova, Tomas Skrdlant and other prominent document makers have been involved in a number of NIKE TV Production projects.

Since 2003 the production acts as a (ltd.) company together with Markus Glaser, Michael Kitzberger and Wolfgang Widerhofer. While the core competence of Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion is producing full-length documentaries for theatrical release with special attention on the author’s point of view and work on quality TV productions, smaller fiction productions as well as international cooperation are directions in which the company will move.
