The aim of the European Short Pitch is to develop a European production of short film through promotion of projects starting from the phase of writing, by meetings between scriptwriters/directors and producers on the European level. Starting co-production in the writing stage would improve the financial development of short films, and thus their economic viability and European visibility. And also experiencing European co-production in short film, fostering contacts between young producers on small-scale projects economically speaking, would make the step to feature film production easier. Then, several European producers could combine their means and energies for discovering new talents, supporting them on their way to directing a first feature.

With only a few days left to apply, Nisi Masa's daring filmmaking workshop of 2010 takes place this autumn on the railways of 18 European countries. Istanbul Express: Exploring Multilingualism across Europe aims to investigate the common issues about languages starting from three European capitals, passing through three, and finally arriving in Istanbul, 2010 European Capital of Culture.

Founded in 2001, NISI MASA is a European network of associations, currently present in 19 countries. These associations consist of young professionals, students and enthusiasts with a common cause - European cinema. Our main aims are: to discover new film talents; to develop cross-cultural audiovisual projects; to foster European awareness through cinema; to create a platform of discussion and collaboration for young European filmmakers. Our main activities are: holding an annual European Short Film Script Contest; organising filmmaking & scriptwriting workshops; holding various cinema-related meetings (conferences, seminars, etc.); promoting short films (through screenings, making of DVDs, etc.); editing publications (various books & a daily magazines produced during several European film festivals).

The concept of the workshop is to invite young filmmakers from five different countries to investigate the city of Prague and attend some general presentations. There will be 4 people in each group. After having selected the content and the story together, the groups will shoot and edit their short movies. They will be supported by 2 professional tutors. In 2011 NISIMAZINE will report once again from this prestigious festival, this year will be the 6th time! For two successful years, NomadsLand has held monthly documentary screenings in conjunction with legendary progressive eatery, bookstore and salon Busboys and Poets. Our aim this year is to coordinate closely with Washington, D.C. area nonprofits and social enterprises to create 7 themed nights on important social issues and frame the discussion with a fantastic feature documentary. Each screening consists of an independent feature film and 30-minute round-table discussion with the filmmaker. Ondrej Sejnoha (Non-Gravity Productions) is running the bussines from 2002, when during his studies at Film School Zlin came the first orders for music videos, commercialls, etc. From 2003 till 2005, Ondrej Sejnoha was working as a Marketing&Sales Specialist for Kodak Czech, division Entertainment Imaging. Ondrej was covering marketing issues for film professionals. From 2006, Ondrej is providing as a free-lancer, film production and marketing services for a wide range of clients. Ondrej also writes for the top Czech flying magazines AeroHobby and Flying Revue. His articles are mainly focused to Czech National Aerobatic Team and the top competitions as a Haute Voltige and Red Bull Air Race.

The “Noosfera Foundation” is committed to film education and to civic education through film screenings and debates. The foundation was established by the Georgian filmmaker Artchil Khetagouri. Artchil studied in the Directing Class of the Netherlands Film and Television Academy. He directed several shorts and documentaries, like “Shining Shoes”, broadcast on YLE/Finland and the short fiction: “Heritage”, which premiered at the Rotterdam Film Festival, won several awards and was the Netherlands selection for the student Oscar.
