Pilot Studio, the Soviet Union's first private animation studio, was founded by Aleksandr Tatarskiy and Igor Kovalyov 20 years ago. Tatarskiy led the studio through some very difficult times, keeping it alive and thriving at great cost to his own health, until his death last summer, while Kovalyov moved to America in the early 1990s and did well commercially. The studio is now the place to go for young animation artists in Moscow. It has won a great number of awards at regional and international film festivals. Profit has always been a secondary consideration to quality and integrity (for which the studio, and Tatarskiy himself, suffered much in the 1990s). And today, ironically, Tatarskiy's former studio has become perhaps as much a guardian of the Soyuzmultfilm tradition as Soyuzmultfilm itself. The studio is now run by an artistic council, such as used to exist in Soyuzmultfilm during the Soviet era, headed by the famous animator, writer and director Eduard Nazarov.

The Pink Apple Film Festival was founded in 1997 as a Swiss queer film festival. The Pink Apple Award is a cash prize of 2000 Swiss Francs. The Pink Apple jury will select the winner from a shortlist of preselected finalists. The festival takes place at the beginning of May in the Swiss cities of Zurich und Frauenfeld. The competition is open to films and videos under 30 minutes in length dealing with gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender issues.

PiranhaFilm was established in 2003 by Petr Horký. It focuses on travel films and science popularization film.

The Pirkanmaa Film Centre has been advancing the knowledge of film culture in the Tampere region since 1982. The Film Centre arranges screenings at its own cinema and in the entire Tampere region; educates and informs; and co-operates with cultural and educational organizations. The Film Centre also maintains its own film archives.

Pitch.Doc, a documentary pitching session, takes place under the Tbilisi International Film festival (TIFF). The Pitching Session is open for documentary film projects in development. Georgia, as convenient geographical location, has an important role being meeting point for neighbors like Armenia and Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova. We would like to use this opportunity in order to create an open space for meeting documentary filmmakers from different countries. Furthermore, to give them a chance to find additional funding sources fortheir projects. Why documentary? Project participant countries, all having the same communist past, are still in difficult transitional process from being a Soviet state to becoming European country. This effort is complicated, but very interesting to depict, especially for documentary filmmakers. Pixel Factory is independent production company, a junior partner of MegaCom Film, which also organizes a festival of films from new directors. The company handles DVD distribution and TV sales as well as theatrical distribution, and works in Montenegro, Bosnia, and Macedonia. Its catalog spans the artistic (Coco avant Chanel) and the popular (Superhero Movie) and a mix inbetween (District 9, Maradona).
