Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

The Mediterranean Film Institute (MFI) is a specialised training organisation. Established in 1998, it has become a center for activities that bring together emerging screenwriters and directors from Europe and the Mediterranean region, teachers of cinema and accomplished professionals from the film industry. MFI is developing this initiative into a permanent center of continuous training for emerging European film talent, doing so in the land - and in an environment - that originally gave birth to Drama. The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), held annually in Seattle, Washington, is purported to be the largest film festival in the United States and among the top film festivals in the world. The annual SIFF runs for three weeks and features a diverse assortment of predominantly independent and foreign films and, in recent years, a strong contingent of documentaries. Over the years, the SIFF audiences have developed a reputation for appreciating films that did not fit standard industry niches. The festival includes a sidebar that is probably unique among major film festivals: a four-film Secret Festival. Those who attend the Secret Festival do not know in advance what they will see, and they must sign an oath that they will not reveal afterwards what they have seen.
