The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Tribeca All Access® is our premiere narrative, documentary and interactive filmmaker program. TAA specializes in providing a full-service range of programming for storytellers who are best described by one word: Fearless. Launched in 2004, the fund provides holistic, year-round, full-service support to passionate and motivated directors, writers, producers and developers, based in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, who come from communities statistically underrepresented in the film industry. TAA specializes in serving narrative, documentary and interactive filmmakers who marry a unique vision and perspective with dynamic and groundbreaking films that challenge the status quo. As an engine for diversity, TAA is a champion of the inclusion of authentic female and ethnic voices in film, whose work moves the conversation forward while speaking powerfully to both mainstream and underserved audiences and the larger global film landscape. Through grants, individually customized year-round mentorship, business seminars, innovative training workshops, industry connections, and market meetings during the Tribeca Film Festival, TAA has created a close-knit community where participants learn from and grow with each other while creating productive and long-term working relationships with the industry. Additionally, TAA uniquely offers filmmakers access to an alumni discretionary fund, which further allows TFI to provide continued support to current and future projects. To date, more than 500 filmmakers have been supported by the program.

In its 25 years of activity the Association Alpe Adria Cinema and its main project, the Trieste Film Festival, have always stood out for the originality and the focus of their initiatives. The festival has analysed and brought to light films and directors that do not hold many chances to be released in our territory. The Trieste Film Festival has acquired increasing importance nationally and internationally, becoming a unique point of reference, above all as regards the film-making of Central and Eastern European countries. At a national level, the festival plays a leading role, being the only festival to have dealt with the film production of these countries for years. Beside the official selection (feature films, documentaries and short films) and the sidebar programmes, starting from 2010 the festival hosts the co-production meetings “When East Meets West”, which involves more than 120 professionals coming from all over Europe.
