The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Astra Film Festival – the Sibiu International Festival for Documentary Film – is a major event in the European community of documentary film. atelier.doc was founded in 2002 by Robert Kirchhoff (chairman), Robert Zipser and Braňo Špaček. atelier.doc constitutes a free association of enthusiasts who feel the need to produce documentary films, CDs and books, which they deem as a meaningful and necessary contribution to the cultural scene, its preservation and further development. On top of these activities, the association organizes various artistic, social fora, exhibits and meetings. The main underlying principle of its activities includes the support of the development of alternative projects - especially in the category of films. Alternative Archive is one such undertaking whose aim is, in a systematic fashion and conceptual approach, to reconstruct, preserve and build on memories of the past and present cultural activities and events. Alternative Archive is a database of film footage, video and audio materials with the aim to make them available to the public as well as make for future use by artists and enthusiasts.

Audiodoc is the first Italian association of independent audio documentary authors, born in October 2006, with the aim to promote the production, broadcast and experimentation of sound documentaries. Our individual biographies in the sphere of audio creation are based on collaborations with important radio stations in Italy and other countries (Radio RAI, Swiss Radio in Italian and German language - RSI and DRS, the public German radio ARD, Radio popolare network), with universities, archives and cultural institutions on a local, national and European level. The association wishes to promote festivals, individual and collective productions, skills and research in collaboration with experts working with sound as a means for storytelling, investigative reporting and artistic creation in Italy and in other countries.

The Austrian Cultural Forum Prague supports scientific and cultural exchange between the Czech Republic and Austria. Each year, the Forum organizes and supports some 250 events in fine arts, design, architecture, music, film, science, literature, theatre and dance. Since 1996, the Forum has been using its own space in the centre of Prague, including a contemporary art gallery, library with approx. 8,000 titles, as well as a concert and lecture hall that holds up to 80 people. The Forum is also active in different regions across the country. Thanks to its wide network of partners - universities, museums, galleries, etc. - the Forum is able to develop and participate in various joint projects, such as art exhibits, concerts, festivals, science and art conferences, and book readings with Austrian authors.
