Baltic Films is the association of three film bodies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The need for common activities of small countries has developed hand in hand with the growing film production in the region. In Estonia the state film subsidies are forwarded to independent producers by Estonian Film Foundation, in Latvia by National Film Center of Latvia and in Lithuania by the Ministry of Culture. The film bodies also provide information about local film production and studio facilities, intermediate films to festivals and other events.

Baltic Media Centre is an independent, non-profit foundation (NGO) promoting democracy, social development and a peaceful international co-operation through the active participation of the media. To stimulate this the centre provides regional, national, and in-house training of media professionals, initiation of international co-productions, legal advice and expert consultancies, networking and other services for radio, television, independent production companies, and print media. One of the activities is the Baltic Sea Forum, which is organized for producers of documentary films and television programmes from the Baltic Sea region.

Held annually since 1994, the festival focuses on the acting profession by offering not only a varied program of feature films and a competition, but the opportunity to meet such living legends of the cinema as Gina Lollobrigida, Pierre Richard, Alain Delon and Ornella Mutti. Baltic Sea Forum for Documentaries is a market of ideas for documentary films for all distribution platforms with international potential.
Baltic Sea Forum consists of both a pitching workshop and session. The workshop will give the participants the chance to develop their documentary projects as well as the pitch of the project. The pitching session will give the participants the opportunity to present their project to a panel of international commissioning editors followed by scheduled individual meetings with them. Projects from documentary film and TV producers from the Baltic States, Belarus, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia will be developed in a workshop run by international experienced producers and filmmakers. At the pitching session 24 projects are presented to a panel of around 16 commissioning editors from the Baltic, Nordic and European TV stations. Each project may be pitched for five minutes, with further time for discussion at the discretion of the host. Each project may be pitched by up to two representatives. BAM is the Flemish institute for visual, audiovisual and media art. It functions as an independent organisation that provides information, and encourages development and networking - both within the visual arts fields and crossing boundaries into other disciplines.
