Belarus TV is the state television and radio channel of Belarus. It was launched on 1 February 2005. It broadcasts primarily in Russian language programmes of other Belarusian state TV channels Lad and Channel One.

The Belarusian State Academy of Arts is the only higher educational establishment in Belarus that trains specialists in the branch of theater, fine arts, decorative-applied, cinema and television art and design. It was established on the basis of the Belarusian Theater Institute founded in 1945. At present there are three departments at the Academy. They are Theater Department, Fine Art Department and Design and Decorative-applied Art Department. Besides Belarusian citizens there also study people from foreign countries. Foreign students and post-graduates are trained on the paid (contractual) basis. At Theater Department of the Academy one can receive necessary qualification on 4 professions and 16 narrower specializations within them: Actor’s Art: drama and cinema actor; puppet theater actor; musical theater actor. Stage Direction: drama director; puppet theater director; feature film director; documentary film director; video film director; TV director; sound producer; musical theater director. Theater Science: history and theory of theater; organization and direction of theater activity; cinema and TV Cameraman: cinema cameraman; TV cameraman. The term of studies for acquiring the qualification of actor or cameraman is 4 years, stage director and theatric scientist — 5 years. The academic year begins on September 1. Fine Art Department gives education in the following directions: Painting: easel-painting; theater-decorative painting; cinema artist. Graphics: design and illustration of books; easel-graphics; placard. Sculpture, Monumental-Decorative Art, Art Criticism: fine art; decorative-applied art; integrated art criticism. The term of studies at Fine Art Department is 6 years except for art criticism (5 years). The academic year begins on October 1. At Design and Decorative-applied Art Department one can acquire the following professions and specializations: Design: Industrial Design: design of consumer goods; design of means of industry and transport; furniture design. Design of Objective-Spatial Complexes: interior design. Graphic Design: typographic. Communicative Design: advertising; TV advertising. Design of Costume and Textiles: design of clothing; design of knitwear; design of weaving. Decorative-applied Art: decorative ceramics; decorative glass; decorative metal wares. The term of studies at Design and Decorative-applied Art Department is 5 years. The academic year begins on October 1. The Academy has post-graduate courses for the following qualifications: theater art, TV, cinema and other screen kinds of art, fine and decorative-applied arts and architecture, theory of arts, technical esthetics and design. The term of studies is 3 years for stationary or 4 years for correspondent students. There is the Student Theater and Museum at the Academy. There has also been established a Council for evaluation of the scientific research and awarding Master’s degrees on the specialization of Technical Esthetics and Design. Belarusian Video Center is organized by the Ministry of Culture in 1989 in order to produсе video films on various themes. The company produces films in up-to-date digital formats. Belarusian Video Center has professional personnel, its own equipment and a base providing realization of full cycle of modern film and TV production. Belarusian Video Center has exclusive author’s rights for more than 800 video films, namely: short feature films, documentaries, popular science, musical and sports films, show programs and social reels.

Beldocs - Belgrade International Documentary Film Festival caters to curious and adventure-seeking viewers by offering a wide range of interesting and provocative films of high emotional charge. One of the goals of is to make the domestic viewer familiar with the most important, highest quality, best feature-length documentaries made in various parts of the world. The only characteristics that these films must possess are quality, up-to-dateness, originality and provocativeness regardless of their topics and origins. The festival includes the following sections: International Competition (up to 15 selected titles produced over the last three years. Films in the competition deal with universal human values told in comprehensible film language, Best Feature Documentary Award). Regional Competition (up to 10 films produced in the Balkan countries - Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia&Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Albania, Greece and Serbia, Best Balkan Doc Award). Next edition in May 2012.

In the field of cinema, the City Council runs programmes for the support of feature, documentary, short, animated and experimental films. Filmmakers can apply for funding for the production or post-production of their film projects.

Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival is the annual cultural manifestation of importance for the city of Belgrade. It is a competitive film festival of works of art in the field of documentary and short film, recorded in both film and video (electronic) technology. The Festival shows domestic and foreign documentary and short films. The Festival program includes a national competition, an international competition and special programmes (non-competitive programs, retrospectives, exhibitions, seminars, workshop).

Below ZERO is a new international pitching session for documentary projects focusing on life above the Arctic Circle. This event is initiated in order to bring together filmmakers, producers, financiers and organisations whose common interest is documentaries thematically rooted in the Northern Polar region. Below Zero is set in Tromsø, Northern Norway, during the last days of the polar night.

Belsat TV is the first and so far the only independent television channel in Belarus went on air in 2007, on December 10th – the International Day of Human Rights. Belsat TV is a democratisation project in many aspects reminiscent of earlier media undertakings such as Radio Free Europe and Voice of America

BELTFILM’s activities concentrates on realisation and distribution of its own film production (for example the Kuře melancholik - The Melancholic Chicken).
