www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

The Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture contains both a public museum and an academic research centre, housing one of Britain's largest public collections of books, prints, artefacts and ephemera relating to the history and prehistory of cinema. The Bill Douglas Centre opened to the public in the autumn of 1997 as part of the British celebrations of the centenary of cinema. Unlike the majority of these celebrations, the Centre is a permanent facility, encouraging the ongoing enjoyment, understanding and study of the twentieth century's greatest popular art form and its precursors.

Bio Illusion Ltd. was founded in 2003. Its employees, however, have a longterm experience in the sphere of TV and movie production. The company offers complete production services for movie making, television production, commercials and music videos. Company is managed by Mr. Miloslav ŠMÍDMAJER, producer and director. He works as a documentary director for Czech Television, TV NOVA and other small production companies. He created a number of commercial spots for the TBWA agency. Since 1996 are most of his documentary films (collaboration with such personalities as Miloš Forman, Saul Zaentz, Miroslav Ondříček, Jan Hammer, Lucciano Pavarotti, Klaus Maria Brandauer etc.) realized in his own production studio PLUTO film & video. He acquiered experience with feature films as a director of Heureka Film company where he was in charge of dramaturgy, pre-production and realization of movies as Accumulator 1 (dir.: Jan Svěrák) or A Pin for the Butterfly (dir.: H. Kodicek, co-production with Channel Four and British Screen). In 2003 he returned to feature film production in his own company BIO ILLUSION Ltd. The comedy Jak básnící neztrácejí naději (The Poets Never Lose Hope) was premiered on 22nd January 2004 and became the 3rd most popular movie in 2004. The next feature film, a comedy by Mrs. Marie Poledňáková Jak se krotí krokodýli (Taming Crocodiles) occupied for 8 weeks from its premiere first place (12th January 2006) in movie chart.
