The Bill Douglas Centre for the History of Cinema and Popular Culture contains both a public museum and an academic research centre, housing one of Britain's largest public collections of books, prints, artefacts and ephemera relating to the history and prehistory of cinema. The Bill Douglas Centre opened to the public in the autumn of 1997 as part of the British celebrations of the centenary of cinema. Unlike the majority of these celebrations, the Centre is a permanent facility, encouraging the ongoing enjoyment, understanding and study of the twentieth century's greatest popular art form and its precursors.

The Festival is an annual screening of the best works in world animation. The Festival encourages exchange of creative experience, search of new ideas, styles and technologies as well as integration of Latvian animation into the global cinema process. Bio Art Production Co. is a new production company founded in 2011. It focuses on the production and co-production of Czech audiovisual works of all kinds and genres, but mainly feature and documentary films. It focuses on implementation of audiovisual works by young authors, as well as exhibitions, concerts and occasional themed projections.

Bio Illusion Ltd. was founded in 2003. Its employees, however, have a longterm experience in the sphere of TV and movie production. The company offers complete production services for movie making, television production, commercials and music videos. Company is managed by Mr. Miloslav ŠMÍDMAJER, producer and director. He works as a documentary director for Czech Television, TV NOVA and other small production companies. He created a number of commercial spots for the TBWA agency. Since 1996 are most of his documentary films (collaboration with such personalities as Miloš Forman, Saul Zaentz, Miroslav Ondříček, Jan Hammer, Lucciano Pavarotti, Klaus Maria Brandauer etc.) realized in his own production studio PLUTO film & video. He acquiered experience with feature films as a director of Heureka Film company where he was in charge of dramaturgy, pre-production and realization of movies as Accumulator 1 (dir.: Jan Svěrák) or A Pin for the Butterfly (dir.: H. Kodicek, co-production with Channel Four and British Screen). In 2003 he returned to feature film production in his own company BIO ILLUSION Ltd. The comedy Jak básnící neztrácejí naději (The Poets Never Lose Hope) was premiered on 22nd January 2004 and became the 3rd most popular movie in 2004. The next feature film, a comedy by Mrs. Marie Poledňáková Jak se krotí krokodýli (Taming Crocodiles) occupied for 8 weeks from its premiere first place (12th January 2006) in movie chart. The Biografilm Festival presents documentary films, portraits and biographical films that deal with significant or interesting individuals from all walks of life. During the festival, each day the programme offers a variety of documentary films and portraits that are part of the official competition and also screenings of biographical films dedicated to a particular person, e.g. for its 2006 edition, the Biografilm Festival focused on films about Walt Disney, Enzo Ferrari, Chet Baker, Zheng He and Marc Bloch.

Bionaut Films focuses on the production of feature films, documentaries and animated films for young and demanding audiences. Its portfolio includes various documentaries, including Dust Games (dir. Martin Mareček, Audience Award, Best Documentary - Jihlava IDFF 2001), Searching for Ester (dir. Věra Chytilová), The Source (dir.
