From the year 2004 on, the Institute of Documentary Film (IDF) and the Czech Film Center issue the Catalogue of Czech Documentary Films highlighting remarkable projects, primarily individual documentaries, listing the yearly documentary production and securing important contacts of producers and filmmakers.
The catalogue introduces approximately a hundred creative documentaries whose television or distribution premiere is planned for the autumn of the following year at the latest. The upcoming documentaries are divided into three chapters according to film length: films up to thirty minutes, films up to sixty minutes and feature-length films. The catalogue also includes a selection of ca 20 finished documentary films already premiered in Czech cinemas.
Subsequently, the catalogue is distributed yearly by both institutions at Czech and international festivals as well as to important institutions and companies in the field of cinematography, providing invaluable promotion to the Czech documentary.

The International Documentary Challenge is a timed filmmaking competition where filmmakers have 5 days to make a short non-fiction film (4-7 minutes.) All of the registered participants make their films during the same time period (early March) and are required to ship the movie by the deadline. In addition to being restricted on time, the filmmakers must choose between 2 assigned documentary genres (such as Biography, Music, 1st Person, etc.) and are assigned a specific theme (such as "Freedom") that will dictate the content and direction of their film. The top 12 films (determined by a panel of judges) premiere at the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Film Festival in Toronto where the Winners are announced. After the premiere, there are additional theatrical screenings in major cities, possible television exposure and a DVD release of the best films. The films are also streamed on our website for voting for the Audience Award and many films (including non-finalists) can be seen on the SnagFilms Doc Challenge Channel.

Doc Launch supports East European documentary films in the production and post-production stage on their way to distribution. It consists of the annual Doc Launch presentation and the year-long Doc Launch programme that supports East European documentary films at international events, providing them with consultations and networking possibilities aimed at facilitating distribution.

The Doc Launch presentation annually introduces 8-9 handpicked feature-length documentaries from Central and Eastern Europe. Festival programmers, distributors, sales agents, members of the press and audiences get the first glimpse of films in post-production slated for theatrical release over the next year. Building its profile around outstanding documentary projects aiming for theatrical distribution, the Doc Launch presentation is based on the tradition of Docu Talents from the East, co-organized at the Karlovy Vary IFF from 2005 until 2009.

DOC Meeting Argentina is a space devoted to documentaries meant to encourage the construction of networks among cinematography and television industry professionals, at the national, regional and international levels; the development of projects under process; the creation of an area for the discussion of different strategies for co-production, marketing and distribution of the documentary genre; and, undoubtedly, a business area created to market documentaries filmed in various formats.
DOC Meeting Argentina is divided into three distinct sections:
* Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. Two-day duration. Representatives of television networks and co-production funds and forums, among other professionals, will be presenting lectures on topics such as co-production, acquisitions, distribution, new technologies, legislation and copyright.
* One On One Meetings. One-day duration. A business roundtable will be held as part of DOC Meeting Argentina. In this roundtable, producers, buyers and sellers will have a chance to show their projects – completed or under development – to co-producers, television representatives and organizations.
* Pitching Forum. In DOC Meeting Argentina, producers and/or directors will have a chance to present their projects to a group of 12 Commissioning Editors (representatives of international television networks who are responsible for the co-production or pre-purchase of documentaries), with the intention of receiving international financing for their projects. Twenty-four projects will be selected.

King Sigismund College (Budapest, Hungary) with the support of the National Cultural Fund of Hungary is organizing a three-day film screening and international conference on the latest developments in the theory of documentary cinema and contemporary Hungarian documentaries. The creation of the European Film Academy (EFA) was the initiative of a group of Europe’s finest filmmakers brought together on the occasion of the first European Film Awards Ceremony held in November 1988. EFA was finally founded in 1989 as the European Cinema Society by its first president Ingmar Bergman and 40 filmmakers to advance the interests of the European film industry.
The European Film Academy (EFA) now unites more than 2,300 European film professionals with the common aim of promoting European film culture. Throughout the year, the EFA initiates and participates in a series of activities dealing with film politics as well as economic, artistic, and training aspects. The programme includes conferences, seminars and workshops, and a common goal is to build a bridge between creativity and the industry. These activities culminate in the annual presentation of the European Film Awards.

Network of Promotion and Export Organisations from 32 European Countries. A key European promotion organization, EFP was launched in 1997 with 10 founding members and has since become a leading international promotion organization in Europe. The European Producers Club (EPC) is an association of influential independent film producers from more than 20 countries across Europe. Founded in 1993 within the framework of the GATS negotiations, we act as a network, a think tank and a lobby in order to participate in the definition of the political and legislative context on a European level. The EPC also coordinates an alliance of 35 national Producer Associations across Europe through the European Producer Associations Alliance (EPAA) to coordinate efforts on both a European and national level. A dedicated team of experts works at the EPC in order to promote international film co-production. For more than seven years, the EPC has been organising training workshops, professional conferences, and networking meetings in Europe and all over the world. In addition to its 50 Members, the EPC fosters a network of over 3,000 industry professionals.
