Der Neue Heimatfilm Festival Freistadt

Country Austria Type of link Festival Section short, fiction, documentary Formats 16 mm, 35 mm, Beta
The festival wants to be seen as counterpoint to the mainly urban cinema medium, and wants to present films that cannot find bigger audiences in the everyday theatre business because of their subject matter (rural life) and style. Every year 20 to 25 films are offered in the categories of feature, documentary and short film. The festival is concerned with heimat - home - as its main issue: the loss of home, travelling, changing of the home ground, finding a new home, metaphorical and metaphysical homes. Submissions can be made by sending the film synopsis to the festival email address / fax number. The festival organizers can request a VHS copy of the film.

The intellectual approaches of Die Fabrikanten come from art, science and economics. Doc Eat

Country Italy Type of link Festival Formats Beta SP, Digi Beta, DVD Deadline month March
Doc Eat is more than a documentary festival entirely dedicated to food. For if the notion of food includes what is drinkable, Doc Eat does indeed extend its interest to Bacchus, the god of wine. Doc Eat is founded on the established experience of Doc Fest, an important international venue in the realm of film and documentaries. Doc Fest is a cultural association that has dealt with documentary festivals and related events for many years. Among them: Festival di Palazzo Venezia in Rome, Milano Doc Festival, Sole e Luna Doc Fest in Palermo, “Modos de intender l’arquitectura” at the Guggenheim Museum of Bilbao, and many others. The ultimate goal of Doc Eat is to build a cultural and visual archive from all over the world. A great film festival that will call for an internationally voracious and gluttonous “meal” made of images, colors, and sounds.
