The Energy Film Festival Lausanne is a biennial event that first took place in 1986. It is the only international film festival that brings together all forms of energy (electricity, gas, biogas, petroleum, renewable energies, biomass, nuclear energy, etc). The festival wants to act as a cultural link to facilitate the communication on energy issues, sustainable development and environmental issues to the public, and to promote information, training and the image of energy through emotion and culture. The festival accepts short films on energy & environment: short films (max. 26 min.), commercials (max. 2 min.), TV reports (max. 26 min.).

The Escales Documentaires de La Rochelle is an annual cultural event founded in 2001. Documentaries from all over the world may join the competition, whatever the theme and the length. After the selection process, 10 - 15 outstanding films compete for the Prize of les Escales Documentaires. The non-selected documentaries for the international contest may nevertheless be seen in the following parts of the festival: Musical Doc Night, Sound Documentary, Literary films, Films about the Sea, Documentaries for Young People and Children, special favourite films in Quartier des Docs, Doc Out, and other.

Espoo Ciné is organized by Espoon elokuvajuhlat ry, a non-profit association. The festival programme includes Espoo Ciné Selection, an assortment of the very best of contemporary European cinema. The festival also screens films for children and the youth, documentary films and two special programmes: the Pink Zone series of gay and lesbian films and the Mélies d’Argent competition of European fantasy films.

The 10th International Ethno film Festival – the Heart of Slavonia is a part of the 4th manifestation Djakovacki rezovi in Djakovo (Republic of Croatia) which takes place from the 26th to 28th June 2013.

The ETHNOCINECA is a unique film festival in the city of Vienna which is dedicated to anthropological themes and topics. It is initiated by the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology (University of Vienna) and organized by anthropology students and MASN-Austria. The ETHNOCINECA intends to provide a platform for all media-artists and filmmakers, who concentrate on anthropological issues like home, otherness, migration, oppression, liberation, poverty etc. to introduce their works to a broader audience. A public discussion about the visually presented issues shall be stimulated and facilitated.

Etnofilm is a Croatian film festival focusing on ethnographic and documentary films. It is organised by Ethnographic Museum of Istria.

EUROfEST – The Eastern European Film Festival in Montreal was created to foster careers of Eastern European filmmakers and to celebrate the Eastern European cinematography in Montreal, Canada and North America. The Festival’s dedicated credo is unique in North America, being a true open door for Eastern European productions to Canadian and American distribution market. The previous edition gathered over 60 films from 12 Eastern European countries and over 2,000 viewers. EUROfEST looks for films produced in Eastern Europe, films made by artists living in North America, having East European roots, as well as films with East European subjects. The Festival sets up prizes for top films: EUROfEST Award, EUROfEST Critics Award and EUROfEST Audience Award for the Feature Section and EUROfEST Documentary Award for the Documentary Section.

EuroFilmColours is a festival organised by a Latvian branch of EUNIC in cooperation with other EU countries. It takes place in Riga, Latvia. It will screen films that focus on social issues (social thrillers) and films on ecology.

The festival was established in 1984 with the aim to promote European cinema. Due to its immediate success, EuropaCinema became at once one of the most famous and known festivals in Europe, considered by producers, distributors and authors as a valid alternative to the Venice Film Festival. The European Media Art Festival is one of the most important current media art forums world-wide. The festival presents a comprehensive overview spanning the whole range of this young genre of art. It also presents works that question social conventions, take familiar things out of their context and subtly track down the absurdities of individual and social everyday life. The approaches range from popular subjects to provocative statements that go down new paths of artistic debate in film, installation and expanded media, making playful and intelligent use of various media. In the field of cinema, the festival program offers experimental shorts and feature films, music videos, new forms of narration and documentation, retrospectives and special programmes. Other events include film and video installations and live multimedia performances, a congress featuring artists and curators, and an international student forum.

Created in 2004 by Katell Quillévéré and Sébastien Bailly from within the Film Directors Association, the Rencontres du moyen métrage de Brive is supported by important sponsoring partners – the City of Brive-la-Gaillarde, the Department of Corrèze, the Limousin, the Ministry of Culture (DRAC), the CNC – as well as many private-owned companies. The festival is designed to be a meeting ground for the general public and professionals, centered on a format as of yet still poorly distributed: the medium length film. The festival is also a convivial moment which brings together the general public and the professionals: films introduced by their directors, producers, actors or technicians; cocktail discussions between audience members and the film’s crew, lessons in visual arts, debates, rediscoveries of rare works… The festival is still the only one in Europe entirely devoted to this format today. The attendance rate, which has risen with each year’s edition, reached 6 500 audience members in 2009, for the festival’s sixth edition.

The European Youth Film Festival is an annual several-day screening event of European audiovisual creations in Antwerp and Bruges. In addition to film screenings, the festival draws special attention to an audiovisual framework. Throughout the year we organize additional activities to support our principal activity. The festival’s main target audience consists of young film enthusiasts but our general principle is not to exclude anyone. The festival has a comprehensive audience reach and an international dimension.

The Europrix Top Talent Festival showcases and promotes top students and young professionals and honours them for their outstanding achievements. Over three days, this event frames the platform for networking, exchange of ideas, experiences and business contacts between the multimedia newcomers, instructors, the European IT-industry and IT-media editors and journalists. Workshops, company keynotes, exhibitions and product presentations by the Top Talent Teams will introduce visitors to a new world of multimedia. During the glamorous Gala night the Top Talent Teams and their nominated projects will be introduced and only then the secret will be disclosed as to who will become the category winners and who will take home the coveted prize of becoming the overall EUROPRIX Top Talent.

The festival is organized by the Warsaw Young Cinema Foundation. It shows TV commercials, films on social issues and music videos, along with non-commercial shorts, documentaries, animated and experimental productions. Commercial films participate in the festival competition while the others are featured as a review. Awards are presented to artists from both groups. The festival is open to first films and student films. Programming directors from European TV stations are invited to the festival.
