The studio was founded by Tomáš Formáček and Jan Krása in July 1996. We are mainly involved in making documentary and information films. Many of these films are shot over longer periods, sometimes even many years. We work closely with the Film & Sociology Association and we realize their documentary projects intended for broadcast by Czech Television (for example: Po letech [years later], the serial Vzpomínáme [lest we forget], Skrytý půvab byrokracie [the discrete charm of bureaucracy], Hledání moudrosti stáří [in search of the wisdom of old age], Hledači pevného bodu [seekers for a reference point], Každý rok je v Praze jaro [spring is every year in Prague], Pot a slzy Pražského jara [the sweat and tears of the Prague Spring] and so on). We co-produced the project “Citizen Havel”, which received a “Czech Lion” award. For the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, we made the film “Symfonie zážitků” (about places that are attractive and inspiring for visitors to the Czech Republic) and the film “The Czech Republic – an ideal destination for congress tourism.” For the National Film Archive (NFA) we are making the 35 mm film “Chronicles”, which captures the most important changes and events in the Czech Republic for future generations. STUDIO MAJ is an independent production company from Slovenia, specialized in production of feature films. Its audiovisual production consists of nine feature films as well as feature films for children and TV, documentaries and documentary series. All feature films were co-productions with the independent producers from various European countries. With its professional experience and knowledge Studio Maj and Dunja Klemenc, who runs the company, provide broad range of services to fellow producers, both from Slovenia and abroad. We advise on creative and technical crews in all phases of film production – pre-production, production and post-production, offer script counseling, advise on development of film projects, search location for shooting, organize casting etc.

Studio Nominum was founded in 1992 by award wining director and producer Arunas Matelis. Studio Nominum focuses main attention in film production, distribution, cinema events, interactive educational projects. Studio Nominum produced or coproduced around 30 creative documentaries, awarded with more than twenty prestigious international film industry awards as Director’s Guild of America” Award , “Silver Wolf - IDFA/Amsterdam, European Film Academy nomination, Special prize “SilverDocs”, Main Prize Oberhausen film festival, „Golden Dove“ - Leipzig film festival. Studio Nominum documentaries were selected and presented in many world wide film festivals like: Cannes (“Directors’ fortnight” and “Critics’ Week”), Rotterdam, Torino, San Paulo, Oberhausen, Amsterdam/IDFA, Leipzig, Moscow, Nyon, Silverdocs, Split, ZagrebDox, DocumentaMadrid and others. Well-know documentary festivals, like: IDFA Amsterdam, Leipzig, Florence “Festival dei Popoli”, Linz, Open Doek Film Festival (Belgium), MoMA (New York) and others arranged the retrospectives. Own documentaries distributed in Lithuanian cinemas demonstrate the best results among documentaries by spectators, absolutely the best DVD sales among all production and genres. Studio Nominum documentaries was broadcasted in tens of countries in Europe and Asia. Among our partners are ZDF/arte, YLE, MDR, North Westfalia Film Fund, Danish Film Institute, Tag/Traum (Germany), First Hand Films (Switzerland), Lighthouse (USA), Vides Filmu Studija (Latvia), Wostok (UK) etc.

Studio "Ostrov" was founded in 1999 by prominent documentary film director Sergey Miroshnichenko and his colleagues. More than 50 projects have been made by the Studio, including the famous Russian version of the «7 Up project» - «Born in USSR» and many others. Among the awards won by the studio are an Emmy Award, BAFTA Award, Grierson Trust Award, NIKA Awards, Golden Eagle Awards and many others. Since 2006 Studio Ostrov, together with producer Grigory Libergal, has organized the Documentary program "Free thought" as part of the Moscow International Film Festival. In 2010, Studio Ostrov, together with federal television channel «Kultura», started a weekly Saturday evening talk-show which combines the screening and discussion of documentary highlights from around the world.
