The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

Cine Tirol Film Commission & Fund

Facilitates the production process by providing information about location selection, crew, transportation, etc. Cine Tirol also grants funding based on the artistic merit of the project, cultural- or tourist-specific benefits for the region and economic benefits. Starting May 1st 2009 Cine Tirol offers production grants in the form of reimbursement of up to 50% of eligible expenditures from filming in the Tirol. Production grants are awarded to selected film projects after application review and are subject to budgetary constraints. Production grants are contingent upon the economic effect of the production on the region (‘Tirol Effect’) and/or the thematic relation of the production to the region (‘Tirol Reference’). The ‘Tirol Effect’ is fulfilled when the filming of the entire production, or parts thereof, in the Tirol generates income for the region, for example, in the form of general expenditures and in the form of domestic film industry expenditures. Decisions will be made by the executive board of the Tirol Tourist Board (Tirol Werbung GmbH) upon recommendations from Cine Tirol.

Cine-Regio

Established in May 2005, Cine-Regio is a network of regional film funds in Europe. The network is continuously expanding and today represents 33 regional film funds from 12 EU Member States, in addition to Norway, Serbia and Switzerland. Cine-Regio's main objectives are threefold and interlinked: 1/ To exchange views, perspectives, good practices and information for the benefit of the European film industry, including integrating new regional film funds. 2/ To raise awareness, represent and promote regional audiovisual interests across Europe, including members' interests towards European institutions and other organisations which play a role in determining the set of rules and conditions for regional film funds. 3/ To strengthen the co-development and co-production of audiovisual products, fusing talents and resources in different regions for a wider market - including stimulating artistic, technical and creative exchange and know-how throughout Europe.

People in Need (PIN) is a Czech organization that provides relief aid and development assistance, while working to defend human rights and democratic freedom. PIN annually organizes the One World Film Festival.

The CNC was founded in 1946 and falls under the authority of the Ministry of Culture and Communications.It is responsible forthe funding policies in French cinema|and its goal isto provide financial support to the film, AV and multimedia industry| to promote film and AV works and their distribution| and to protect and distribute the French film heritage. The CNC manages State financial support for the film industry and audiovisual programmes as well as grants by the Ministry of culture. Support is delivered in two forms: automatic aid (reinvestment subsidies awarded under purely economic rules) and selective aid which meets qualitative and cultural needs. The organization provides funding for script development, production and distribution of short, full-length, experimental films, renovation of cinemas in rural areas, etc.
