As a public service television channel, ARTE showcases Europe’s rich cultural diversity. Its purpose is “to conceive and produce television programmes which, in a broad sense, are cultural and international in character and conducive to promoting understanding and cooperation between european nations”. Subdivided into three main companies: ARTE France, ARTE Deutschland, ARTE G.E.I.E., the group employs staff from France, Germany and other European countries. In both France and Germany, 95% of funding for the channel comes from the direct tax on home television sets. Based on an agreement between France and Germany, the channel is financed through the television licence fee in both countries. With its Europe-wide reach, ARTE has also developed a range of successful partnerships for co-production and exchange of programmes with the major European public service broadcasters. ARTE G.E.I.E. - the Strasbourg headquarters is in charge of programme strategy, commissioning policy and scheduling. It is responsible for broadcasting and on-air promotion and provides the language services required for multilingual transmission. It also produces news, magazine programmes and some of the theme evenings. In addition to this, ARTE G.E.I.E. plans and co-ordinates public relations activities and manages relations with European partners.

AXN was launched in six Central-European countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria) by Sony Pictures Entertainment in October 2003, represented by HBO Central Europe. Its main programs include action movies, action series, reality and challenge shows, action animation, and extreme sports.

The BBC exists to enrich people’s lives with great programmes and services that inform, educate and entertain. It provides a wide range of distinctive programmes and services for everyone, free of commercial interests and political bias. They include television, radio, national, local, childrens’, educational, language and other services for key interest groups. BBC services are used by over 90% of the UK population every week. The BBC also runs orchestras, actively develops new talent and supports training and production skills for the British broadcasting, music, drama and film industries. The BBC is financed by a TV licence paid by households. It does not have to serve the interests of advertisers, or produce a return for shareholders. This means it can concentrate on providing high quality programmes and services for everyone, many of which would not otherwise be supported by subscription or advertising.

BEDNA TV, Inc. is providing start-to-finish Internet TV services including strategy, consulting, content development and film production. Bedna.TV is internet-based TV station, launched on December 2009, broadcasting only original content.

Belarus TV is the state television and radio channel of Belarus. It was launched on 1 February 2005. It broadcasts primarily in Russian language programmes of other Belarusian state TV channels Lad and Channel One.

Belsat TV is the first and so far the only independent television channel in Belarus went on air in 2007, on December 10th – the International Day of Human Rights. Belsat TV is a democratisation project in many aspects reminiscent of earlier media undertakings such as Radio Free Europe and Voice of America

BNN or Bart's Neverending Network is a Dutch public broadcasting association supported by the Netherlands Public Broadcasting. BNN was founded in 1997 by Bart de Graaff, and targets teenage and young adult audiences.

Budapest Television has been in the media market for over a decade. A significant part of the programmes is interactive: viewers can call in during live broadcasts to share their views with guests as well as to ask questions. The program can be received by AMOS 1 satellite and by cable.

The BOS/BBF is the first independent Buddhist Broadcasting Foundation in the west to produce and broadcast buddhist programs within a country’s Public Broadcasting System.

Bulgarian National Television was founded in 1959. It was the first television launched in Bulgaria. It is a public broadcaster producing and broadcasting political, economic, cultural, scientific, educational and information programs, providing its audiences with direct access to national and world cultural heritage and supporting the development of national culture. Presently Bulgarian National Television operates on the basis of the Law for Radio and Television from 1998. It is a national public broadcasting station. It has four regional centers situated in the cities of Blagoevgrad, Varna, Plovdiv and Russe.

BVN is a public television channel for Dutch and Flemish viewers all over the world. The channel broadcasts only in Dutch, sourcing its programmes from various Dutch and Belgian broadcasting associations.
