DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) is Denmark’s oldest and largest electronic media enterprise. The corporation was founded in 1925 as a public service organisation. DR is an independent, licence financed public institution. DR TV comprises two channels, DR1 and DR2. DR1 was founded in 1951 and DR2 in 1996. Both channels are, from April 2006, broadcasted with full national coverage as free-to-air signals via the new digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform. Broadcast continues on the analogue terrestrial network (with some limitations for DR2) until analogue shut off by end of October 2009. Both channels are must carry on cable, and satellite operators offer both channels in their packages. In addition most of the channels content is freely available on demand as streaming and podcast on the Internet (and to a smaller degree to mobile phones).

Euskal Telebista (ETB, Basque Television), is the main brand of Euskal Irrati Telebista (EITB, Basque Radio-television), Basque Country's public broadcast service.

The public television station ETV operates under the Broadcasting Act passed in 1994. Estonian Television is financed wholly from the state budget, and has been entirely free of commercials since July 1st, 2002. In 2007, ETV merged with the Estonian Radio Service (ER) to form the Estonian Public Broadcasting or Eesti Rahvusringhääling, ERR. So far, ETV has been broadcasting under its original name.

Filmmuzeum television is a retrospective channel founded by Hungarian investors. It started broadcasting in November 2000 aiming to present the permanent values of motion picture history. Filmmuzeum´s 24 hour daily program originally consisted of old Hungarian films and TV shows only, but from January 2003 besides its own productions and documentaries the channel started to present the masterpieces of international film history as well. The program is divided into six different, easily identifiable line-ups. These are: Film Museum, Sports Museum, Humour museum, Music Museum, Filmmuseum at Night.

Fönix is a Budapest based terrestrial channel, broadcasting on UHF 31 and 24-hours program over two time zones. The info-channel from 2 a.m. is somewhat similar to the bloomberg channel, which brings up-to-date information on current news and events. During the timeslot from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., the main programs are magazines, minibiographies and documentaries, focused on cultural events, covering fine-arts, music, theatre, literature and film. Fönix is commited to present social issues, such as the environment, unemployment and minorities, as well as topics related to the European Union. At the moment, Fönix is seeking new partners to develop and expand it´s potential.

Fox International Channels (FIC) develops and distributes wholly and majority-owned entertainment, factual, sports, and movie channels in all markets across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and Asia. With a stable of 20 channel brands, FIC broadcasts more than 95 television services in 29 languages.

It is the largest public TV network, part of France Televisions which also comprises France 3, France 4, France 4 and RFO.
