The Austrian Film Commission (AFC), founded in 1986, is an organization dedicated to promoting Austrian cinema throughout the world. The AFC’s role is to increase awareness of Austrian filmmaking abroad and to support the positioning and release of Austrian films on the international marketplace.

The Audiovisual Information Centre is a part of the Slovak Film Institute – National Cinematographic Centre. It promotes Eurimages and European Audiovisual Observatory and makes use of advantages concerning Slovak participation; contacts foreign institutions and provides relevant information relating to Slovak cinematographic and audiovisual area; collects, processes and distributes information coming to Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and Slovak Film Institute relevant for specialists of Slovak cinematographic and audiovisual territory; cooperates with partner institutions including Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Slovak Audiovisual Producers' Association, Union of Slovak Film Distributors and others; provides relevant information concerning film and audiovisual databases abroad and regularly updates a directory of Slovak institutions, companies and organizations working in the field of Slovak audiovision and cinema.

Established in 1981, the Austrian Film Institute is a federal institution established to provide funding for Austrian films with regard to cultural and economic aspects. The provided funding aims particularly at strengthening the Austrian film industry and the creative-artistic quality of Austrian film which is a prerequisite for its success in Austria and abroad. It is a legal entity under public law and its registered office is located in Vienna.

The Balkan Documentary Center (BDC) is an initiative of the team behind AGITPROP production company. On the one hand, it is a virtual network and framework for support, our very own 0700-BALKANDOCU helpline. On the other, it is a brick-and-mortar actual house in downtown Sofia to be equipped with everything necessary to make this support technically possible, from research lab to production equipment and post facilities.

Baltic Films is the association of three film bodies of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The need for common activities of small countries has developed hand in hand with the growing film production in the region. In Estonia the state film subsidies are forwarded to independent producers by Estonian Film Foundation, in Latvia by National Film Center of Latvia and in Lithuania by the Ministry of Culture. The film bodies also provide information about local film production and studio facilities, intermediate films to festivals and other events.

The Bulgarian National Film Center is the Executive Agency of the Bulgarian Ministry of Culture that administrates the implementation of the Film Industry Act (FIA). The main functions of the Agency are to finance film production, film managing, distribution and exhibition of films, to support the promotion of Bulgarian films in this country and abroad, to keep the register under the FIA, to stimulate the development of the film culture.

The mission of the California Film Institute is to celebrate and promote film as art and education. We achieve this goal through three core programs: year-round programming at the Christopher B. Rafael Film Center, the annual Mill Valley Film Festival, and the CFI Education Program.

The Centre for Film Arts in Katowice (Silesia Film - Centrum Sztuki Filmowej) was established in 2006 to promote film culture and art. It brings together numerous film organizations active in Silesia, including debating clubs, film directors, students and lecturers of the film department at the Silesian University. The organization houses two screening rooms and the Silesian Film Archive, constantly digitizing and maintaining its collections. The Centre is also involved in organizing film reviews and screenings.

The Cinémathèque québécoise is a modern institution. Its mission is to preserve, document and promote national and international film and television heritage. It is a dynamic space in which the architecture reflects the desire for transparency and accessibility, offering an inviting atmosphere for everyone who is interested in the history, new trends, and future of film, television and new media.

The Croatian Audiovisual Centre (Hrvatski audiovizualni centar, HAVC) is the government-backed strategic agency for the audiovisual sector in Croatia. It aims to stimulate a successful, vibrant audiovisual industry as well as to promote the widest possible enjoyment and understanding of audiovisual works throughout Croatia. Our remit ranges from supporting production, distribution, exhibition, marketing and promotion, to professional training and supporting national film archive through the system of public subsidies.

Since 2002 the Czech Film Center (CFC) is systematically promoting contemporary Czech cinematography and the Czech film industry, primarily abroad. Among the CFC´s activities are: providing up-to-date information on the current state of Czech cinematography and Czech film industry (about film productions currently starting up, projects in preparation, statistical data, etc.), co-ordination of promotional activities at important international festivals and markets like in Berlin and Cannes a.o., publication of annual catalogues, promotional DVDs and brochures on Up-coming Czech films, networking in the field of the international film industry, training workshops for Czech film professionals. Czech Film Center organizes showcases of Czech films worldwide.

The Danish Film Institute (DFI) is the government agency responsible for supporting and encouraging film and cinema culture and for conserving these in the national interest. DFI operations extend from participation in the development and production of feature films, short and documentary films, over distribution and marketing, to managing the national film archive and the cinematheque. The DFI Film House, open to the public, is also an entertainment and edutainment facility, with its cinemas, videotheque, restaurant and café, bookshop and filmmaking studio FILM X. Located in central Copenhagen, the Film House also provides a vibrant meeting place for cinema-goers, filmmakers and filmbuffs alike.

The Estonian Film Foundation (Eesti Filmi Sihtasutus) was established in 1997 by the Government of Estonia as a private legal institution with the task of financing Estonian film production; establishing and developing international film contacts; promoting Estonian films at home and abroad; supporting the training of Estonian filmmakers and audiovisual professionals; creating and maintaining Estonian film databases. Estonian Film Foundation represents Estonia at international film festivals, markets and organisations. Estonia is a member of MEDIA Plus and European Audiovisual Observatory. As of January 2004, Estonia also joined Eurimages.

EYE is the new institute for film in the Netherlands. EYE unites the Filmbank, Holland Film, the Nederlands Instituut voor Filmeducatie and the Filmmuseum in one organization, under one name. EYE combines an extensive, world-famous film collection with valuable expertise in restoration and research and with educational programmes and international promotion. EYE promotes film culture, debate, reflection and innovation through adventurous film programming, distribution, research and experimentation.

Film Center Serbia (FCS) is an institution based on the achievements of the highly respected Film Institute (1963-2004). FCS was established in 2004 under the Ministry of Culture, with the aim of strategic development and reconstruction of the Serbian film industry. FCS was established: • to creatively stimulate and administer financial support to Serbian cinema on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of Serbia, through annual competitions for screenplay and project development, film production and postproduction. • to create a legal and administrative framework for the development of film industry and therefore facilitate the necessary transformation of film industry and culture while upholding the standards of the European Union. • to allow for the distribution and copyright enforcement of the cinematic cultural heritage. • to create better conditions for the professional advancement of all structures that make up the Serbian film industry. FCS represents Serbian films and film industry at all major festivals and markets – including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, Rotterdam, Karlovy Vary, Locarno, Pusan etc.

Filmkontakt Nord (FkN) has since its establishment in 1991 by the independent Nordic short & documentary film community been dedicated to the advancement and promotion of Nordic short films and documentaries internationally. The organisation has four main objectives: information, marketing, networking and the acquisition and dissemination of knowledge and know-how. During FkN’s more than 10 years of activity, it has established itself as a unique central source of information and expertise, catering to the needs of the Nordic independent short film and documentary community, and meeting the demands of the International Marketplace. FkN’s main function is to serve as a common Nordic platform for a stronger production and distribution network within the Nordic countries and a visible united exposure internationally, joining a strong cultural profile with a driven and future-oriented industrial perspective.

A division of the Flemish Audiovisual Fund (VAF), the missions of Flanders Image is to promote Flemish audiovisual products abroad. The organization is an information centre for the audiovisual production in Flanders and Brussels. Flanders Image attends a large number of international festivals and markets. The Flanders Image market booth not only serves as an informal meeting point for professionals. It is also the place to obtain information on the Flemish audiovisual sector and its products. It also organizes and/or participates in film events abroad that are aimed at supporting Flemish audiovisual production, and supports the promotion of Flemish film releases in key territories.

The Georgian National Film Center (National Film Center) is a legal entity of public law under the Ministry of culture, monuments protection and sports founded on the basis of Georgian law On State promotion of Georgian National Cinematography dated 5 December, 2000 and enacted in April 2001. The objective of the National film Center is to provide and coordinate state support to the existence and development of Georgian cinema; to facilitate production and distribution of Georgian films by the funds earmarked from the state budget and other sources; to integrate Georgian cinema into the global filmmaking process.

German Films Service + Marketing GmbH is the national information and advisory center for the promotion of German films worldwide. It was established in 1954 under the name Export-Union of German Cinema as the umbrella association for the Association of German Feature Film Producers, the Association of New German Feature Film Producers and the Association of German Film Exporters, and operates today in the legal form of a limited company. In 2004, the company was reorganized and now operates under the name: German Films Service + Marketing GmbH.

The Greek Film Centre functions as a public liability company that belongs to the broader public sector, is supervised by the Ministry of Culture and subsidized by the state. Its structure, powers and operation are regulated chiefly by Law 1597/86 for the protection and development of the art of film and the support of Greek cinema and by Presidential Decree 113/98. The aims of the Organization are: the protection, support and development of the art of film in Greece, and the presentation, promulgation and promotion of Greek films both at home and abroad. The Greek Film Center organizes film screenings that cover a wide range of film genres. GFC gives priority to the support of Greek films while Filmcenter's main program will include selected quality films from global cinema. Emphasis will be given to reviving the children's program Cineac and to after-midnight screenings.

Magyar Filmunio was established in 1992 by the Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary for the promotion of Hungarian film throughout the world. The main fields of activity: organisation of the participation of Hungarian films (feature films, shorts, documentaries and animation) at international film festivals; organisation of retrospective screenings and national film weeks abroad; organisation of the Hungarian National Film Festival; contact and collaboration on a regular basis with international professional organisations and with national cinema and audiovisual bodies worldwide; organisation of conferences, workshops and meetings of the audiovisual sector; acting as a switchboard between Hungarian industry professionals and their partners abroad.

The Institute of Documentary Film [IDF] is a non-profit training, promotion and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of the EAST EUROPEAN creative documentary film and its wider promotion. IDF was established in 2001 by directors and producers of documentary film and its program has therefore been formed by creative personalities for creative personalities. The IDF programme is intended for filmmakers, independent producers and representatives of East and Central European televisions, as well as for festival selectors, journalists and the general public. The Institute offers a number of activities, for example Ex Oriente Film workshop, East European Forum, East Silver market and webpages DOKweb.net.
