Borders of Smell
Hranice pachu, Czech Republic, 2006, 28 min
A documentary on the effects of intense industrial smells on humans; the stench as a phenomenon that influences human lives and freedom. From specific problems (the smell from Setuza in Ústí nad Labem) we pass, via a comic book "Mom, why does it stink so much in Ústí?", the film tracks more general issues - smell and memory, smell memory, the borders of smell, stench and death. The fear of smell can manifest itself as the fear of breathing, illustrating the lack of confidence in existence itself.
