www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

doxs! is the oldest German film festival exclusively presenting documentaries for children and adolescents. The international film programme is part of the well known documentary festival "Duisburger Filmwoche". Each screening is accompanied by a moderated Q&A. The entry to all screenings is free for accredited festival guests and pupils. doxs! works in various fields of media education and constantly develops new pilot-projects which set pace and break new ground.


doxs! kino festival takes place in Duisburg from November 4th to 10th 2013.


The doxs! festival programme of the Duisburger Filmwoche addresses to children and adolescents aged from 6 - 18 years. The festival programme is open to European documentary film and TV productions in German language or with English subtitles.
The submitted films will only be accepted if not shown prior to 1 June 2012 and if not been submitted to the previous festival edition provided that they were not withdrawn before the beginning of the programme selection. There is no restriction in length.

The festival programme is divided into three categories:
-programme for children attending elementary school (6 - 10 years)
-European competition „GROSSE KLAPPE“ (10 - 18 years)
-paradoxs! experimental documentaries for adolescents

Filmprize – GROSSE KLAPPE
"GROSSE KLAPPE" awards European films promoting an aesthetical approach to documentary culture and the political consciousness of children and adolescents. A youth jury selects the winner of the competition.
The next award to the amount of 3.500 Euro will be handed over at doxs! kino during the 37th edition of the Duisburger Filmwoche in 2013
