Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

MeetMarket

Market
Countries: United Kingdom
Deadline:20.03.2013
Start:13.06.2013
End:14.06.2013

MeetMarket* is the pitching initiative at Sheffield Doc/Fest, designed to match documentary makers’ most innovative project ideas with UK and international buyers.
Buyers view online one-minute pitch teasers of innovative documentary ideas, along with one-page treatments, in advance of Doc/Fest. From this, they select which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket. Projects can be at any stage of development and cross-platform projects are also very welcome.

MeetMarket, the UK's largest documentary marketplace: June 13 - 14, 2013.

MeetMarket is a flexible format of pitching that can accommodate all kinds of projects, filmmakers and media makers. All pitching takes place in individual meetings where both pitchers and funders want to be in the meeting, and you can get straight into creative and financial discussions.

Applications for MeetMarket 2013 are now open. Entries close at 5pm GMT on Wednesday March 20th, and late entries will not be accepted.

Decision Makers view one-minute pitch teasers of innovative documentary ideas online (uploaded via Distrify), along with short synopses, biographical information and headline budget figures in advance of Doc/Fest. From this they select which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket. Projects can also be in any genre of documentary/factual, from factual entertainment through to art/installation documentaries. We also welcome cross-platform/interactive projects and those projects looking to raise finance and distribute/exhibit their projects through alternative strategies including via crowdfunding and third sector support. Once again in 2013, MeetMarket will feature experts in these areas for you to meet, alongside broadcasters, film funds, sales agents and distributors.
