www.DOKweb.net is a portal dedicated to East European documentary film. The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

MOLODIST Kiev IFF is dedicated to first professional and student films. The out-of-competition programme includes several informative sections that are dedicated to the cinema in Ukraine, Eastern Europe and Russia as well as to films awarded at other festivals. The Molodist Film Market is organized as part of the festival.

Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist is held in Kyiv annually last week of October. It commenced its activity in 1970. It was a local festival in which participated young students of the cinematographic faculty of Kyiv National Institute of theatre arts named after Karpenko-Karyi. Since then Ukrainian young film Festival is oriented towards the young cinematographers. Festival’s main goal is to find and to discover help young talents to occupy a fitting place in contemporary cinema process.
«Molodist» is a specialized festival aimed to support the cinema of the young directors. That’s why we looking thoroughly for a works of talented youth on film festivals. And this wok is done not only in Ukraine but also all over the world. That’s why we process hundreds of applications and spend our time for a hundreds hours of videos.


Film debuts, student films and short films at the Molodist film festival: October 19 - 27, 2013.


International competition
Festival competition section consists of three categories:
• student film (less than 45’)
• first professional short film (fiction, animation, documentary) films (less than 45')
• first professional full-length fiction film (60' or more)
Films produced after the January 1, 2012 are eligible for official competition section in case of presence of 35mm film print or DCP as a screening media. Films that have participated and have been awarded prizes in other festivals may be submitted for competition.

National competition
Short and medium-length films (fiction, animation, documentary) produced in Ukraine (or in co-production with Ukraine) after January 1, 2012 (any media) are eligible for National competition section of the festival. Films that have participated and have been awarded prizes in other festivals may be submitted for competition.

Sunny Bunny
Queer themed short and full-length films (fiction, animation, documentary) produced after January 1, 2012 (any media) are eligible for preselection of Sunny Bunny program. Films that have participated and have been awarded prizes in other festivals may be submitted for the program.

Deadline for applications is July 1st, 2013. No entry fee is necessary.
Selection Committee will announce its decision during the period of September 1-20, 2013.
