The news section provides up-to-date information on upcoming and just completed films, interviews with filmmakers and other documentary professionals, in-depth articles exploring the state of documentary filmmaking in various parts of the region, as well as insightful texts on current trends, funding, etc. The portal also boasts the largest published databases of completed and upcoming documentary films from Eastern Europe, an industry directory, as well as trailers and original video content. www.DOKweb.net is IDF´s key online project that provides comprehensive details on all IDF´s activities and links them with general information service.
Institute of Documentary Film’s Activities
Founded in 2001, the INSTITUTE OF DOCUMENTARY FILM (IDF) is a non-profit training and networking centre based in Prague, Czech Republic, focused on the support of East European documentary films and their wider promotion. Our activities support filmmakers through all stages of completion – development, funding, production, post-production, and distribution. We aim at individual filmmakers (tailored consultations), groups of carefully selected professionals with projects or films (Ex Oriente Film, East European Forum, East Silver, Doc Launch, etc.), broader professional community (East Doc Platform), as well as the general public (portal www.DOKweb.net). We closely work with key int. festivals, broadcasters, distributors, sales agents, markets, or training initiatives and serve as the GATEWAY TO EAST EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM.

The international science film festival PARISCIENCE is organized by the Association Science & Télévision (AST), French science producers, at Museum national d’Histoire naturelle and Jardin des Plantes in Paris. An eclectic, international and enriching event: during 5 days, free screenings provide a diverse and original program.
Films dealing with scientific subjects are presented to a large audience including professionals. Shorts, featurettes and feature-length films in the genres of documentary, fiction and docu-drama, magazine, animation… are on offer and each screening is followed by a debate with filmmakers and scientists.


The 9th edition of the International Science Film Festival Pariscience will introduce a selection of documentary films, feature films, short films, animations, magazines dealing with scientific subjects: October 3 - 8, 2013.


We are very pleased to announce that the Call For Entries for the next edition of PARISCIENCE International Science Film Festival is open !

PARISCIENCE is a film festival which crosses science with cinema to shed light on the evolution of the various scientific disciplines and their impact on society. Each year, the festival showcases the very best of French and international science-themed films.

The 9th edition of Pariscience will be held from October 3rd to October 8th 2013 at the Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, in Paris.

For the first time this year, an Audience Prize will be awarded in addition to the 6 endowed prizes.

To submit a film, please start by filling in the online form. Afterwards, you will have to send us the submission sheet of your film and the regulations, along with 3 DVD copies of the film. The festival is looking for films produced in 2012 or 2013 in screening format Beta Digital, HD or Blu Ray.

Entry fees for the festival are :

Early Submission Deadline: February 28th – 20 Euros per film;
Official Submission Deadline: April, 30th – 30 Euros per film;
Late Submission Deadline: May, 15th – 40 Euros per film.
